I was wondering if there were any real life stories of a bisexual person keeping a male partner and female partner, but the three agreeing not to have additional partners than that?

Two bi females and a male seems to be a better option.

True, I guess. I'm thinking females tend to get along better.

This is usually called a triad, and I have heard of these being as successful as any other modern relationship.

That's a form of polyamory. It's called a closed relationship in addition to a triad what @Guitar's Cry said. Not all polyamourous relationships are open

Okay, got it. It's a closed triad and a form of polyamory.

I thought I'd add this to get even more specific. It could be a vee relationship too depending on the dynamic.

With a vee relationship one person is in a relationship two people but the two people they are with aren't in a relationship with each other

Edited due to poor wording choice
