    Matthew 15:9
'But in vain do they worship me, ...'

Jesus not only is saying it is correct to worship Him, directly which is only reserved for God, He also condemns the 'commandments of men'.

It doesn't get any clearer, not only are we to worship Jesus in Spirit form, we also are to ignore nonsense commandments of men, regarding such.

    Arguments or comments welcome

Jesus is calling Himself, Lord, God, in present form. This is why it is direct,

In vain do they worship Me...

In other words, they worship, yet their doctrines are messing up their worship.
[Of course if they don't know that Jesus is Lord, it doesn't change the problem with their worship.

Do you ever quote scripture in context. Jesus is talking to the Pharisees, those whom he takes every opportunity to reprimand.

    Matthew 15:7-9
"You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, when he said : ‘ This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me . And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men .’” (MOUNCE)

Jesus was quoting Isaiah where it was clear that God was talking about worshipping him. Nothing to do with worshipping Jesus.

The true God in 1 John 5:20 refers to Jesus' God.
Do you know that Jesus has a God?

    Do you know what
'All the power of heaven and earth' means? It means Jesus is God, the Lord, it's the reason why it's Jesus's Kingdom.

At best Jesus sacrifices Yahweh to His God, as a offering, a spiritual replacement sacrifice.

Though, clearly when Jesus says pater, it isn't literal. That's bizarre. It means His Spirit over-self, the Lord in Spirit of the Lord.

Who do you think the Pharisees worshipped?

You need to have an explanation here, because it doesn't make sense.

And as a context, the Pharisees had Moses's seat, remember. So, 'wacky theories', need to be presented in context.

Well I have read some 'wacky theories' in my day but none quite like yours. No scripture you quote is in context and is twisted beyond belief.

The Pharisees were constantly reprimanded by Jesus because they preferred their man-made traditions over God's word. They claimed to worship Jehovah, but as Jesus said, their hearts were far removed from him. Claiming to worship God, doesn't mean that you are.

Nothing you post makes any Biblical sense. You cannot substantiate anything you believe. So sharing your beliefs is simply you expressing your own opinion about how you read scripture.

You apparently can change your religious identity on a whim. From a Jewish mystic to a modalist with little more than a suggestion from someone. You are free to believe whatever you wish, but the truth of it is for God to decide.

Let's see what he has to say.....

The fact that on occasion I've even had to write that I'm a Modalist, or a Sabellian, a common name or branch of Modalism, is a testament to how messed up the churches teachings often are.

LOL....or perhaps how messed up your own perceptions are?

There is a reason for everything...including why the churches are so messed up. God didn't do the messing.....:D
