Masks are satanic and God hates them.

When emotions run high, intelligence runs low,

It isn't the spike in cases that I look at but the death rate:

This is what makes the rest of the world think that Americans are a bunch of nutters...
Not all of us, but just enough to get Trump into power. Not sure how this wacky backwards bumbling bumpkin culture gained such prominance, but it will be America's undoing if we don't get it reined in.

You have that flip-flopped. When someone posses a decent level of intelligence and self awareness, they understand what the proper response should be. For those who embrace scientific illiteracy, the intelligence was running low to begin with.

They also forget the Leper quarantine in the OT law. But, we must not jump to the gross assumption that the are even aware of these biblical quotes.
They don't read or follow the bible. They just presume that it condemns whatever it is they don't like at the time and that God agrees with them, always. "I hate artichokes, therefore it makes sense god hates them too thus those who eat them are of the devil."

Haven't flipped flopped at all. Don't know why you think so.

Eh? I'm saying you had your cause and effect flip-flopped.
I think I got it... Their emotions were very high which causes their display of intelligence to be very low. I thin I said it correctly... but it isn't a big deal.

It's really not that difficult to see.

At the end of WWII, the USA had the world's sole remaining major industrial infrastructure. The ones in Europe and Japan had been bombed to smithereens.

Then we indulged in an orgy of socialism, which kept the economy in high gear. From the GI bill to the interstate highway system, the government taxed and spent our way into the most dominant society on this planet ever.

You're Welcome.

No, I'm saying their intelligence is very low, which caused their display of emotion to be very high.

These people really know how to make it sound cool to wear medical masks.
They do. About the first time I heard this, from an Ohio Fundamentalist Evangelical state lawmaker, I thought leave it to a MidWest Christian Republican to make wearing a mask a delightfully blashemous act that offends their god who somehow managed to pull off having thinner skin than Trump.

Usual logic of the right. :D

I understand completely. Freedom is the most important thing to so many. God grants total freedom. Why can't we all?

If no one wears a mask and keeps apart, the virus might spread like wildfire. The strong would live. The weak would die. It would be over in just a few months. Might work out better for the economies of the world.

What am I going to do? I'm wearing that mask, staying 6 ft away so that by the time I get it modern medicine will have found a cure. They have already come a long way since the start.

We are learning Patience.

As fastinating of a factoid as that was, how is it relevant to my question?

That's basically how it happened. Two massive oceans on either side kept the homeland of America largely and almost entirely unscathed. That meant America had infrastructure and manufacturing while the rest of the world was repairing and rebuilding from having the **** bombed out of them.
And also during that time America had high tax rates on the upper most income brackets, many tax incentives for business owners to invest in their business in worker-friendly way,and the government used the money to create more jobs and more opportunities and nore ways to advance.
The middle class was born. The common, average person thrived. It only took one income. And the national narrative was ask not what my country can do for me, ask what I can do for my country. That is a large part of how America grew to be such a force of global hegemony. The other main reasons are economic oppression abroad, playing puppet master in foreign nations, and causing instability in smaller, more vulnerable nations in a way that cripples them while allowing the West in general to flourish. As for the the religius nutters and anti science loons, that has roots in thebmid 19th century with the Great American Revival (the Bible alone is all I need came from then), was further entrenched during thw Cold War to distinguish America between Russia, and reached new heights with neo-Cinservativism under Reagan where suddenly the government is bad and can do nothing right, taxation is theft, individual freedoms reign supreme, and the influence of the Religious Right has grown.

I'm not sure how the economic growth post WW2 caused certain segments of society to develop such a strait up inconsistent and down right incoherent form of frothing religious/patriotic fervor, one that holds a seething hatred for science and logic.
