Now they are just making things up. This company here brags on its site that it will create conversations online about your products for you:
About Us - Media Relations Agency

That is some underhanded monetization.
That's not monetization.

Definition of monetize | Dictionary.com

I read the link, & it appears that they don't intend any fraud.
Moreover, online conversations are an important way I find
out about new & useful products.
Here is one I discovered yesterday on a John Deere tractor
discussion forum....
Shocker Hitch® - Air Ride Towing Products
After doing some research on their products, I placed
an order for their trailer coupler with air suspension.

Now you've gone & dun it....you got Popeye all fired
up to hate business again.

Here in the fake news world, what makes you think that they aren't just selling a modern product?
Tom
If people feel oppressed they tend to rebel sporadically and unpredictably. I read that in a book. One problem with so much dissonant noise is that it feels like oppression. Of course there is rebellion occurring as a result. Nobody is listening anymore. That is the nature of this rebellion. It doesn't always seem that way. Its complicated by other factors, so its hard to see what has people holding their hands over their ears. There's no cadence to the noise, no music. There's no space or silence. There's just random noise all the time, and people don't want to hear anymore. That's what I think. Oops you weren't asking about that.

That's not monetization.

For the record I have not accused them of fraud. :grinning:

When I think of "low bar", I think of fraudulent advertising I've seen.
But I didn't attribute that word to your claim...I spoke generally.

Here's something bordering on fraud....
Ocean Spray used to (as I recall) advertise that its cranberry juice
was "high in food energy". What an attractive way to say it's high
in calories.

You were quite pedant and cautiously non-judgemental. You also used terrific spelling. It was a delight to read.
