I've never been much of a Star Trek fan (except for a summer playing "Star Fleet Battles" when I was 13), so I'd never heard this phrase before. Thanks. Very interesting stuff.

And welcome to RF, it's a pleasure to get to know you a bit more, Marka.

Let's just say I'm in the middle of the road. Still searching. Though I found something but... I wouldn't want to go too deep into that right here and now but as soon as I'm done with the work here, I hope to start posting in the forums. I guess I'll have a few experiences to share and a few questions to ask here.

Nope, I'm afraid I don't like fantasy at all. I'm more into hard-core sci-fi. Asimov and Orwell might be two names that you can recognize. Also, borderline, maybe Dick and a few others. Orwell comes closest to my idea. Coming from the country that has been under socialist oppression for many years, I adore all metaphors about freedom. Another aspect that fascinates me is the fate of an individual against the fate of the society or civilization. There is a lot of that in Star-Trek, too, if you know where to look. :) Looking at my shelf now, the first few names at hand are: Abramov, Lem, Zajdel, Grundkowksi, Boruccy, Diłow... mostly Polish and Russian authors. Except Lem, you've probably never heard of them.

I've already read some. I wish I could be everywhere at the same time... :) It's a great suggestion, though, I didn't think of this. I'll do it when the time allows. I'm really sorry but there is only one of me. :rainbow1:

Or wait until I retire and start translating them myself. ;) While I generally hate translating, I once did translate a whole film because I wanted to share it with my Dad. I discovered that I may enjoy it if I'm translating something interesting for me.

This project will have to wait a long time, though. At least after I've finished my novel, first. :D
