Manichaeism

An interesting branch of theology. I found this basic definition of the doctrine:

The most striking principle of Manichee theology is its dualism

The term dualism is the state of being dual (or having a twofold division). Dualism doctrine consists of two basic opposing elements. Generally it consists of any system which is founded on a double principle.

..... Click the link for more information. . The universe is considered a battlefield for control between an evil material god and a good spiritual god. Christians recognized the evil god in Satan but, of course, could not accept the idea that Satan had as much power as Jehovah, and held that Satan, unlike God, is a created being. The term Manichaeistic is often used to describe any religion with a similar concept of struggle between good and evil.

The idea of good and evil being two sides of the same coin intrigued me.

The only difference between that idea and Taoism is that in the Tao, the opposites are not fighting, but complimenting.
