Mahabharata in modern English?/Draupadi

Does someone know if there is a translation of the Mahabharata in modern English?
I would love to read the Mahabharata, but I get headache from expresions like thou hast instead of you have.

Has someone read the Mahabharata and can give me an insight about the personality of Draupadi?
I only know that she was married with all 5 of the Pandavas and lived with each for one year, than walked through fire to regain her virginity and lived with the next brother (for me she seems to be a victim of the story, but I might be wrong).

Are you sure you want to read it?The Bharata is very looong,it will take months or even years to complete.Think twice before you buy.

I would really like to read the Mahabharata, but I would prefer an e-book edition because I do not have so much space in my small flat.

There is a version that is a retelling by William Buck. It is not word for word, nor a synopsis. I have that and his Ramāyana. If I tried to read 100,000 verses of the Mahābhārata I think I would give up reading.
