Lusting after him or her in your heart

The voting majority has His word but they ignore it. That's why the world is such an evil place.

I don't know if the world is really such an evil place or if news media simply gets better ratings spinning that narrative.

Walk outside your own door and go find this evil for yourself. Sure there's a few bad folks that get all the media attention but I suspect a majority are just folks trying to make a decent place in this world for themselves and their family.

Religious bias feeds into the narrative spin of the media so folks are less likely to question it.

But I mean really, go find the evil in your neighbor or down the road a few blocks. Is it really there? Or is this what religion has taught us to believe?

I'm getting there.

So what do you consider 100% objective, if anything?
I'm not going to play this silly little game you're trying to play. You have no evidence, you and I both know that, but you can't bring yourself to be honest enough to admit it.

No surprise. Come back when you decide to be serious, OK?

I am serious and I do have evidence but I can't post it.

If you can't find anybody or anything objective then you must go with what you think.

Well, I think I've seen enough of your evasiveness, especially as there are plenty of others here at RF that I can have a serious discussions with.

I was making 2 points.

1. There is no 100% objective person or source you can go to.

2. The Holy Spirit reveals truth to the believer. Of course I know you don't believe this one. Nevertheless, the Spirit has revealed the truth that is Jesus Christ to me.

Hi. I'm new here. My first post I wanted to discuss the subject of something that seems taboo to talk about : - pornography. The Messiah constantly referred to the generation he was apart of as an 'adulterous generation' but I would venture to say that the generation we are living in is far worst thanks to the rise of pornography especially through the internet and telivision. So I have a question. Why do so few predominantly Chr-stian countries do *nothing* about it? And I'm not just referring to porn sites, I'm referring to any site which harbors content of a sexualised nature. Matthew 5:28 and Romans 13:14 clearly forbids us to watch these things and it seems clear to me that unless we as a nation can turn away from this epidemic, we as a nation will be judged for it.

I was reading Ezekiel 7 - 17 today and it was heart rending, especially Ezekiel 16:30. We as human beings are permitted to lust after none other but our spouses. If we have fallen short, then surely we must repent.

If there is a God I seriously doubt he cares one bit what sexual activities two consenting adults choose to engage in. Sex as 'sin' is something human beings made up to try and control other human beings.

Porn has always been available, and it has always been produced. You can find "dirty pictures" scrawled on the walls of many archaeological sites.

Interestingly, the Bible (for one) does not ever say "Thou shalt not draw dirty pictures of people making the beast with two backs," but it does say, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

And I find that the world's museums, its art galleries, its cities, and even its places of worship, contain vastly more pictures of people, fish, animals, angels, cherubs, Jesus, God and so much more than there is porn anywhere.

Maybe its just that humans are easily confused, amused or distracted....

There's is exactly as much evidence that the Bible is the word of god as there is evidence that the Koran in the word of god. Their opinion is just as valid as yours.
Yep, as you and FH have hit the nail right on the head as some can't get it into their mind that the word "belief" is not synonymous with the word "fact". The nature of religion is that it is neither provable nor falsifiable, which does make for some interesting conversation that often accompanies outright frustration as no one can in reality prove their point.

As far as I know there are no Christian countries in the West at least. There are secular countries where Christians and other religious folks are citizens of.

Also, please refer me to where Jesus says Christian principles should be enforced as law in Gentile nations?

Hey, Welcome to RF. :)

Meaning, if the Government outlaws porn, that is simply giving the government too much power. Look at countries like North Korea and Saudi Arabia where porn is illegal. Governments become dangerous when given that power!

As you mentioned North Korea, here's an article on access to Pornography there.
