Lord of the really-odd-long-can't-follow style of writing

Anybody else have trouble reading Lord of the Flies by William Golding?

The story is an interesting concept, but Golding's writing is immensely hard for me to follow.

I'm not quite through with the book. Any suggestions on reading it better? Or ways to understand Golding's writings?

I'd advise you to never pick up a Peake book, Becky. :D

If it helps, many critics see LOTF as an allegory to the New Testament and the Cold War. I don't know where you are at in the book, but I'll just say that you should look for connections between Jesus and Simon.
