Wise move, Amanaki.
Brother Amanaki, I'll give you a Qur'anic verse to better appeal to you:
“Certainly will the believers have succeeded: They who are during their prayer humbly submissive, and they who turn away from ill speech…” [
Quran: Chapter 23, Verse 1-3]
If there's one thing I've learned from experience, the mother of all troubles is indulging in vain endeavors that has little-to-no benefit in the long run. And I tend to think of social media just another vain avenue for vain conversation, unnecessary stress, and as a whole --- Useless. So it's a good thing you are weeding out the useless stuff that is not beneficial in the long run. Whatever you do, keep this Golden Rule [from The Holy Qur'an itself] --- Is what I am doing vain, useless, or is this productive? Will this do more benefit in the long run or will it prove to be costly? There are more harms or benefits in this? Is it overall more destructive or more constructive? Then take a proper decision. Just a brotherly advise.
I have closed down Facebook and other social media accounts of mine ages ago and am only think back of it negatively. I have become so busy bettering my own self and taking care of my family, trying to make a living etc. that I barely get a time to think about it [let alone miss it]. I only use RF these days, and even that very rarely and not as much as I want to [due to being busy].
Free yourself from unnecessary bondage, and you'll achieve more peace.
Just keep me in your prayers, my brother. I am in dire need of God's Forgiveness, Mercy among Other Blessings. Especially, please pray to God to grant me a good source of income. It's really hard to watch your family suffer because you don't even have a damn job atm!
