Russia did that with their unwarranted war against Ukraine and now with their attempted land grab. Ukraine is not the Sudetenland as Russia will learn.

It benefits China. They already get low prices, but this will add to Russia's surplus. It would be a sneaky and clever move for that regime. Actually it benefits anyone who is buying Russian fossil products.

Yes, it pretty much guaranteed some sort of sabotage when it decided to annex land from neighbors and make everyone else be Russian.

As far as the apparent sabotage goes, given that we have in effect a mostly cold war with the USA/EU against Russia right now, it fits the pattern of events.

Given Russia's louder and louder nuke threats that they'll do a land grab and nuke people if they object, this is probably just a minor blip in what could happen soon.

Russia's unprovoked invasion of a sovereign nation and subsequent rape, torture, and murder of women and children needs to be spoken against. Russia has ruined their own relations. Trying to place blame elsewhere is asinine and imbecilic.

Human rights should concern anyone and everyone who isn't a piece of garbage.
This is about the sovereignty of a democratic nation and its people, especially those who are victims of atrocities. Put down the plate of spaghetti and think, son.

Whether it's sabotage or not, it's sad. Either way.

Yes, it's obvious the Russians have done it in an another attempt to intimidate Europe.

There was a series of very large bombs involved, probably mines laid some time ago and detonated remotely. The bombs were carefully placed just outside the 12 mile limit of Denmark (which is in NATO). The pipeline is a Russian asset, not one belonging to NATO countries. So this action does not call for a response from NATO. All very convenient - and almost certainly calculated.

It's notable that it is the Russians that are talking it up as a strategic threat to Europe, whereas in fact neither Nordstream 1 or 2 has been operating since August and neither is relied on in the EU's gas supply planning for the future. So the aim appears to be to worry Europe that the Russians might similarly blow up, say, the gas pipeline between Norway and Germany. Well sure, if they want to start WW3 they could do that. Just as they could do that by using nukes. So what's new?

It looks like the sort of thing Putin might do if he is running out of options but does not want to risk starting WW3.

More details here: Whether or not Russia was behind the Nord Stream blasts, little was at stake

According to Wiki, he has clarified (?) his tweet as follows:
On 27 September 2022, hours after the 2022 Nord Stream gas leaks, Sikorski posted on Twitter "Thank you, USA" over a picture of the gas leaks that followed the explosions of the gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and 2. Four hours later, after numerous media outlets had speculated that Sikorski implied the U.S. blew up the pipelines,[97][98] he made subsequent tweets, where he accused Russia of being responsible for the leaks, mockingly calling their actions a "special maintenance operation".[99]

The Baltic is a closed sea.
There are the satellites which have already showed what kind of ships approached to the incident site.
And they are not Russian ships.

So things cannot be covered up or altered, in the 21st century, in the digital era.

The topic here is the pipeline, by the way.
    Someone is in on it.
