Actually it's not a lake at all, if you understand the concept of God being a consuming fire.

In the day of the tribulation, God's wrath will come like a wave in a lake burning with fire, burning out everything that has sin in it, will be eradicate from the earth, God's wrath will come upon them like a wave in a lake, Just rolling across where ever sin is. Burning sin out where ever it is.

The kings of the earth, and great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hid us from the face of him that sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. Revelation 6:15-17

it will not do them any good to hid in the rocks, God's consuming fire will take them out no matter where they try to hid.

But those who hold true to God,
God's consuming fire will not even touch one hair on their head, not even their clothes will not be touch.

Just like the three Hebrews in the book of Daniel, when they were cast into furnace of fire. Not even their clothes nor one hair on their head was touch. Because Christ was right there walking with them thru the fire.

The same with the wrath of God's consuming fire, Christ will be right there walking with his elect people right thru that consuming fire of God's, that will burn up the wickedness of man. But will not touch His elect people.

"For our God is a consuming fire"
    The book of Hebrews 12:29.

Since the event unfolded in 1844 and 1863, you may have to re-evaluate your theories as an elect person. The fire has consumed what people now think is Christianity.

May Christ be with you always.

    Regards Tony

The event that I am referring to, is the tribulation that is soon to come upon the earth, which is future tense and not pass tense.

Yeah but there's only one problem with that, if you haven't notice, The tress are being burned up, Which the consuming fire of God's does not harm the tress nor any green thing nor the animals.

Only those that have sin in it.

Understanding the lake of fire (Gehenna -as opposed to Hades/Sheol [grave], Tartaros [state of restraint of sinning angels]) requires referencing all verses on the subject "line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little".

It is that in which God is "able to destroy both body and spirit".

However, that is not the end of all who experience it -and we do not yet know of any will be completely destroyed.

None have been cast into the lake of fire yet. The beast and false prophet are cast there first after the return of Christ -even a thousand years before Satan (who will be in the "bottomless pit" first -and no humans are cast there until after the judgment which is after the thousand years.

None are now in "hell" -except the grave (Hades, etc.) -the lake of fire is later.

Sometimes, such terms as "forever and ever" are used in reference to certain characters, but we do not know for certain whether that is dependent upon a change of heart -even though it is indefinite. That is God's decision.

It is described in story form by Christ as an unpleasant experience which happens to those whose works -when judged by them -did not warrant a better reward -on one side of a gulf fixed between the righteous and unrighteous.

Elsewhere, it is written that some will have "their part in the lake of fire".

Elsewhere still, it is written that some will "be saved, yet so as by fire".

Finally (in order of events, not that there are not more verses to reference), "death and the grave" are cast into the lake of fire.

The lake of fire actually destroys death and the grave.

God is likened to a refiner's fire -and the lake of fire is the final ultimatum and end of that process of perfecting.

Those who are in the first "better resurrection" will not experience the "second death" which is the lake of fire, but those who experience the second death will not necessarily be completely destroyed, as the second death destroys death and the grave.

The "rest of the dead" which are not in the first resurrection will be raised to the judgment after the thousand years, but some of their works will have been good -even though they may have been ignorant of God and Christ -and the lake of fire will not be necessary for them -rather, they simply will not have been called to the first resurrection of the "first fruits"

"Even so in Chrsit shall all be made alive"

Searching those things in parentheses online or in bible software will show associated verses.

When you wrote "Line upon Line, Precept upon Precept
This being, Chapter by Chapter, Verse by Verse.

You quoted " Death and the grave, cast into the Lake of Fire"

Do you have any idea as to who death is, that's cast into the lake of fire ?

Do you know who the dead are in
Revelation 20:5--"But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand we're finished, This is the first resurrection"
    Who are the dead here?

The beast and the false prophet are cast into the lake of fire, after thousand years have expired and not before, the Lake of Fire comes after the thousand years have expired, and not before.

Maybe you should get an understanding of who the beast and the false prophet are.

In Revelation 20:12--"And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God"

Do you know who the dead are here ?

Do you have any idea how some are saved by the fire ?
do you have any idea who they are ?

When the "devil", at the end of the millennium, was thrown into the "lake of fire", the "false prophet" and the "beast" were already present.

New American Standard Bible Rev 20:10
And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

I would like for you to explain exactly how the false prophet and the beast can already be in the lake of fire, before the devil was cast in the lake of fire.

Do you have any understanding who the false prophet is and who the beast is, in the book of Revelation, Who exactly are they ?

Who exactly do you think the false prophet is?
Who exactly do you think the beast is ?

What does the book of Revelation tell you exactly who the false prophet is, and who the beast is.

Look do not go to other book's of the bible, just stay with the book of Revelation and just show in the book of Revelation who the false prophet is.
And do not go outside of the book of Revelation, but stay with the book of Revelation and show who the beast is.

Every apocalypse has a bad day followed by a good day. Doesn't matter if everything is killed off because a "new world" just starts back up.

But the fire of the Phoenix burns through lies, you understand? The gaze of the Phoenix is like an x-ray tearing through every self-deception. So burn, Emma

Seeing you have no knowledge or understanding about what the lake of fire is or what it Represents

First your fire of Phoenix has no idea what a lie is to burn through. If it did, you sure wouldn't be standing.you would haved been burned to a crisp long ago.

You tell me. I have already stated that the false prophet, Paul, is already dead, and his "unclean spirit" is all that is left of him (Revelation 16:13-15). When the "dragon" is thrown into the abyss on the eve of the millennium, the "beast" and the "false prophet" will be dealt with right then and there. They won't be resurrected from the dead. During the millennium, there would be no need for a "false prophet", nor the "beast".

Where are you coming from, The Thread is not about Paul or the false prophet.

The Thread is about ( The Lake of Fire in Revelation )

What is it with you, that you can not stick with what the Thread is about. That you are always trying to change a Thread When the Thread is not about what your talking about.

The consequences of the "lake of fire", for those with everlasting life, is detailed in Revelation 20:10, and is based around the "false prophet", the "beast" and the "devil". Try and keep up with the conversation. Maybe a young child in your family could be of some help to you.

Look That is not what the Thread is about had you any common sense to read the Thread first before you made any comment. If you can't read, then get a child to read it for you.
The Thread is about, if someone was to ask you to describe the Lake of Fire, how would you describe the Lake of Fire.

It burns. But according to Revelation 20:10, it doesn't burn up those with everlasting life, such as the "devil", and apparently the "beast", or the "false prophet".

New American Standard Bible Rev 20:10
And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

First the fire spoken of in the book of Revelation, is not an actual fire, as we know what a fire to be.

Fires as we know them, burns everything that gets in it's way, But the fire in the book of Revelation, doesn't burn the trees or grass or animals.

So we know this fire, isn't a fire as we know fires to be.but a super natural event.

We can get an inside look what this fire would be like in the book of
Exodus 3:2, Here we find Moses sees a bush burning with fire, but yet the bush is not being consumed by the fire.

Because this fire like the Lake of fire in the book of Revelation is a super natural event that takes place. So we have an inside look what the Lake of Fire will be like, that the trees and grass are burning, but are not being consumed by the fire.but only those who are wicked, the Lake of Fire burns them up to be no more.
