A classic ride at Disney World, the famous Jungle Cruise boat ride around the park, reportedly sank while guests were aboard on February 27. The news was first reported by BlogMickey.com, which confirmed that an incident happened on the Jungle Cruise around 12:30 p.m. local time in Orlando, Florida, which forced the ride to shut down until around 2 p.m.

Soon afterward, Twitter user Matthew Vince, who was on the reported riverboat ride that sunk, shared photos of the incident online. Thus far, there have been no reports of any passengers being injured. The ship, named Bomokandi Bertha, is one of 15 boats that navigate the rivers of the Jungle Cruise.

It's been a long time since I've been on that ride.

Apparently, Disney is coming out with a new movie about the Jungle Cruise.

Disney is releasing a movie based on the Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt on July 24. Today’s incident opened up a new realm of jokes on Twitter.

One person tweeted, “I’m hearing a Jungle Cruise Boat sank? Could you imagine that happening and The Rock not being there to save you? (All joking aside, glad everyone is ok!) #Disney #JungleCruise”

Another user joked on Twitter, “What’s worse: your Jungle Cruise boat sinking or the fact that you’re going down and the last things you hear are The Skipper’s terrible jokes.”

Not the worst mishap they've had at the Magic Kingdom, but it makes me think that some of these rides must be pretty old by now. We might someday hear of a massive pileup in Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

As a kid, I rode this many times, then later with my own kids, at the real Disneyland.

In those days, the guest's were supposedly scared by robot alligators and snakes.

In an attempt to come up to date with the modern world, I suspect a robot insurgent in the jungle fired a fake RPG that was supposed to miss, and awe the riders, it apparently hit the boat.
