Have any of you read the essay Criticism Inc. by John Crowe Ransom?

I'm not one to ask for help. In fact I abhor doing it, but I've got a paper due, and so help me, no matter how many times I read this essay, I can barely makes heads or tails of it.

For any of you who've read it (if, in fact, any of you have), can someone please explain to me what he means by the "tissue of relevance" in regards to literary criticism?

I'm kind of going out of my mind.

    Thanks in advance.
