    Presenting this again,
    John 14:6

If Jesus is the only way to the father, then how did the O.T. persons know God?

    How do you reconcile this?
This question is mostly directed at those considering themselves biblical adherents,

The Jewish people were and still are waiting for the messiah to lead them to the father.

Because the Lord of the Jews was Jesus preincarnate, before he "came in the flesh". All the Israelites were baptized into Moses and Jesus.

    1 corinthians 10:3
    Warnings from Israel's Past
…They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ.…

Because the meaning of John 14:6 refers to the messianic claims of Jesus, not to an exclusive path to salvation as many Christians believe.

As the Christians are waiting for Jesus to come back again.

Will someone please let me know when either of these happen, OK?

Meanwhile, I'm going on with my life.

I'm thinking, it was the Son of God who spoke to the profits.
The Son had not become Jesus yet, but he was still in heaven with God.

There are places in the world where the Bible isn't accessible or available, yet people still believe in a god...or God. If one is interested in ''finding'' God, the Bible isn't necessary, or even believing the Bible story about God. God can reveal himself/itself in many ways.

I think you're thinking about Donald Trump, who probably thinks he's the "Son of God" and speaks "to the profits"-- obviously you meant "prophets". ;)

    Sorry-- couldn't resist.:D

God isn't an "itself", in my beliefs. He is a deity that is known , with names, and is not every other version of God. There can be the 'same God', elsewhere, yet He is distinct there as well. So not randomly any deity, and not a vague idea of deity.

John 14:6 doesn't mean that believing in Jesus and Chrisitianity on the earth is the only way to get into heaven. It means that only if Jesus allows can you pass through the gate to heaven.

Everyone who dies goes into a stasis, sleep, until they are awakened to continue moving upwards through the levels and eventually travel through the gate to heaven.

The gate was closed until Jesus finished his mission on the earth.

I would imagine that non-Christian believers would agree with you.

Everyone saved in history was saved though Jesus work on the cross. Their sins were paid for looking forward, God patiently waiting. Ours looking back at what has been done....

In my belief if I was around during the ministry of Jesus or during the Christian dispensation... then the closest I could come to God in that time would be through Jesus...... If I was around during the time of Moses ... then the closest I could come to God in that time would be through Moses.

    Consider the scripture:

5:44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? 5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
5:47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

    (King James Bible, John)

The first prophesy in Eden spoke of a seed that was to come. (Genesis 3:15) As time went on, clarifications were made about who the players were in this prophesy....like a riddle.

Jews were expecting their Messiah (anointed one) when Jesus made his way to the Jordan for baptism.....the one whose sandals John the Baptist said he was not worthy to remove. They knew from prophesies in Daniel that he was to come at that time. (Luke 3:15)

    King David spoke about him.
    Psalm 110:1-2:
"Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand,
Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Jehovah will send forth the rod of thy strength out of Zion:
Rule thou in the midst of thine enemies."
    (ASV)

The Messiah was spoken of as David's "Lord"......he was to 'sit at God's right hand' awaiting the time when God would establish his kingdom, which the Jews believed would be on earth, not in heaven.

In fulfillment of prophesy, John was the one who 'prepared the way' for Jews to come to Jesus as their Messiah. Since Jesus is the "way the truth and the life" and there is no way to come to the Father 'except through Christ', then it means that all who deny him are lost. If he said "NO ONE " can come to the Father "except through me" then I believe he means exactly what he says. [IMG]
The Jews as a nation did not come to him and so he said they were 'abandoned'. (Matthew 23:37-39)

There is no future-tense in Hebrew, the entirety of the Old testament debunk the New Testament, that is a fact.

    Psalm 110:1-2
"Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand

    Isaiah 45:1
Thus saith the LORD to his Messiah, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him

No prophesy, just boasts too King Cyrus .

There are several people referred to as "anointed ones" in the OT. The patriarchs Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are called Jehovah’s “anointed ones.” (1 Chronicles 16:16, 22) But Jesus was "The" Messiah, meaning the one who was going to establish God's kingdom on earth.

    John 1:41:
"He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ)." (ESV)
