"Muslim" is an Arabic word meaning "one who submits (to God)"

Luke 6:40 (21st Century King James Version)
40 The disciple is not above his master, but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Luke 6:40 (American Standard Version)
40 The disciple is not above his teacher: but every one when he is perfected shall be as his teacher.

Let us look at what Jesus said in Luke 6:40 in the language of Aramaic translated into Hebrew:
"Ein talmeed na'leh 'al rabbo; shekken kal adam she'MUSHLAM yihyeh k'rabbo." - Luke 6:40, Source: Aramaic Bible Society

Translation in English: "No student can be above his teacher, but everyone that is a MUSLIM, can be as his teacher."

The Hebrew word "Mushlam" comes from the root "Sh L M". "Shalom" which comes from the same root means "peace". The Arabic word "Muslim" comes from the root "S L M". "Salam" means "peace".

Conclusion: The word that Jesus used in Luke 6:40 Mushlam in Hebrew is what Muslim in Arabic means - one who submits to God.

Please look at the context in which the verse sits. It is part of a dialogue against judging other people. It is saying be merciful, and if someone does you wrong then be their teacher showing them how to behave.

One would think a people who regularly point out that criticisms of Islam take different verses out of context. One would think they would be especially sensitive when regarding the religious texts of others - but, nope. *sigh*

Of course he is. Jesus is whoever you want him to be. To me, Jesus is an alien from another planet.

Say hello to alien Jesus.

Nonsense. This has been refuted here: Luke 6:40: Did Jesus use the word "Muslim"? - Christian-Muslim Dialogue

"By manipulating exotic Bible translations and translate many times from one language to another language, a Muslim discovered that somewhere in the Gospel is the word “Muslim”. However a direct and reliable translation via Hebrew for “perfectly trained” will not produce the word “Muslim”. A direct translation from the original Greek word for “perfectly trained” is “insight”. Therefore the Muslim claim that Jesus used the word “Muslim” in Luke 6:40 is refuted."

Why must Muslims try so hard to make other religions validate their own, especially using bad scholarship and reasoning?

To my knowledge the Quran does not say that Jesus used the word “Muslim” only that He is Muslim.

Since Jesus did submit to the will of God it doesn’t seem necessary to me to prove that He used the word “Muslim”

No.

Luk 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

Luk 6:40 So-cannot the pupil, in-place-of the instructor; as-he makes-straight/corrects: but-yet any can become like the instructor.

Luk 6:41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Jewish. He is all Jewish since we seem attracted to superfical. That's something that seems universial, that Christianity and Islam share in in aggregate. Now you can point out depth but superfical has no depth so that's called random dart throw. And accidentally random when it gets it right.

It's pretty sad when one has to find meaning in ones own religion by inserting meaning into other religions.
Exactly right. I'm just wondering why if they are so happy, do they need this validation? There's not enough at home to be content, so it needs to be propped up from somewhere else, like, from a religion it sees itself as a competitor to? In their minds, if they can be seen to be validating you, then they aren't a threat anymore. In other words, it's lying to oneself out of some sense of shame, or something.

You belong to a religion that fiercely resents anybody saying anything that denies even the least bit of it's supposed "truths.' Because that is what you have done just in the subject of your post.

Then why on earth would you stoop to doing that to somebody else's religion? Can you spell h-y-p-o-c-r-I-s-y?

As to how you come by all of this, is just amazing, since Jesus was born in Judea Israel, and even Jesus himself said that he was only sent to the house of Israel.

Now if what you say to be right, Why was Jesus only sent to Israel and not to the muslims. Go Figure.

Did you also know Jesus talk about how false Christ's and false prophets would come and that how a false prophet would be in the desert.

It's come down Muhammad as being that false prophet lived and was born out in the desert.
Muhammad is the only one to be a self proclaim prophet that lived out in the desert.

And Jesus gave prophecy about Muhammad 600 years before Muhammad lived.

In Matthew 24:24-26. False prophet in the desert. Muhammad being that false prophet in the desert.

Hey, he was trying to go into his father's business...like any nice Jewish boy would do..

Waite are you freaking kidding me, If Jesus is Jewish As you say Jesus is.
Then why was Jesus sent to Muslims, As many Muslims claim.

But yet Muslims will claim Jesus to be Muslim, But you say, Jesus being Jewish.
Unto which Jesus is Jewish, that's why Jesus said that he was only sent to the house of Israel.

But seeing that you have no clue about who Jesus was referring to, As his Father.
Jesus was referring to his heavenly Father which is in heaven.
And not a earthly father.
