Is Jesus the highest conceptualization of light in your mind, or not? I'm giving you a free pass to talk about other religions if you need to.

And suppose that Jesus is - how important is it to be pure light when it seems pretty obvious that truth and balance can be found even in darkness, when tempered with light?

It is Christ in Jesus that is the Light. Jesus was annointed with the light, the Holy Spirit.

That same light is in all God's Manifestations.

As a liberal I see modern man as a higher light than Jesus, for the modern man would not consider it civil to go into someone’s place of worship and start overturning the furniture.

Okay. In such a case... if modern man wants a greater conceptualization of light than even themselves, who would they turn to?

It is ok to look to Jesus and other people who offered up their lives in the path of service to humanity, just do not follow them blindly :)

No, he is not. I view him as one of many moral/ethical/spiritual teachers/gurus to have walked this earth.

As I see it, his “light” was no more pure than yours, mine, or any other that has walked the earth. He just had a better understanding of it than most. :)

Light and darkness are often used to mean good and evil. If that’s what you’re referring to.... humans have split nature in them to varying degrees. That is easy observation for anyone, better observation in observing and examining oneself. Constantly in and out of states of doing good things and then turning around and doing bad things and vice versa.

Regarding the mind, it can have the perfect balance or equilibrium of light and dark. It can think as dark as it would like to, but not ‘be’ the dark or perform the ‘dark’ acts. It would be like knowing and being able to think like darkness, in order to understand the darkness better, and be able to see through and spot it. Even better if one knows themselves and is made aware of their own darkness and former darknesses once ignorant to. This would be the light being seen(made aware) and understood while in darkness.

With that said, I do know that one can be almost ‘pure’ light in nature and character while also having a balanced mind and dark sense of humor, or being able to think darkly.

But then there would be the troubles of mistaking one for the other. It would be too easy for one of the opposite... someone enlightened but having a dark nature and character. They would easily be able to trick and con another by appealing to someone else’s light/goodness while having vile intent. Present themselves as of light and say all of the right and wise fluffy sounding things outwardly just to coerce. So they would essentially be able to think as light as they want, present themselves as light as they want to while having a dark nature and character. Ulterior motives.

Light can mean a lot of others things to. Such as lightening up, laughing a lot, the removal of chains and burdens and fears, and guilts, and regrets and terrible memory reels that play over and over which are heavy... the opposite of light. So anything that is heavy, whether abstract and/or physical would be detrimental to being lighter. That’s at least what the ‘cross’ represents to me. Something heavy and burdening, chains we carry on our backs/minds. And then the following of a path to break free from that. A lot happening at the place of the skull, inside of us between the temples.

Light can also refer to like a lamp or spark being lit inside and gradually expanding, opening up more and more gates inside of awareness. Or genetic switches being turned on and opened up. However one would wish to use terminology in their own words. And it wouldn’t matter if someone called it the Christ or the Bodhi light, or the spaghetti monster. . what would matter is the character and nature that transpires with it.

This is all useless knowledge of, one will only understand the more they experience/come to know.

I think I should tell how I reached the conclusion that Jesus may be light:

    >In hearing some people's stories, if they ever feel a dark or evil presence, they call for light from angels to protect them.

    >Many see Jesus as having more light than angels and being more powerful. At least, while in heaven.

    >If God's angels are seen as light-workers, imagine how much a light-worker Jesus would be.

19“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. 20“For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21“But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.”

Recognizing the dark is different than living the dark. Serial killers live the dark. They have no concept of light. This is true for many other people who commit other heinous acts.

That is absolutely true. This is what Jesus meant when speaking of the wolves in sheep's clothing and false prophets, which are the same thing. Being in the light does not mean that someone should be gullible. If they know the difference between right and wrong, they should not be easily conned by that which is obviously wrong. It is always amazing to me how many people are conned by supposed Christian televangelists. The televangelists are going against the Bible yet convincing people that they are doing God's work. They deceive people because of their greed. The people who are deceived are so caught up in their impassioned beliefs that they can't see the difference between dark and light.

Almost as if there is a completely different source or compass inside of them than most.
Empathy and mercy for them, as they never asked to exist, be that way, or have the potential to be that way.

Yet also, there are people who recognize the light, know the light, yet are completely dark in character and nature. And do so very subtly and cleverly under disguise as being light. Know precisely what they’re doing and how to manipulate others.

Do you think that many are ignorant as to what they’re doing? Trying to mean well and thinking they are doing the work and will of light, but aren’t? Or simultaneously doing the work of both light and dark while being ignorant to such and being ignorant to not knowing the differences and making false equivalences? I mean, we see all of the time everyone trying to justify and make excuses, reconcile how a good God can be related or compared or compatible with obvious evil.

I definitely know that some are fully aware of what they’re doing. Probably laugh their a**es off behind closed doors or inside at their sheeple and how stupid they are for divorcing their minds over to them without question.

A few others I’ve come across from others are blaming the devil, and also others stating that all beings will each get the chance to experience being a human in every culture, a human in every religion, a good human, also a bad human, a male life, also a female life, being wealthy, being poor, being in the middle, being physically attractive, being physically ugly, being physically average, etc etc.

The light that I’m thinking of when I talk about a light that I see in science and in some religions, is a light that lights up a path to follow, to bring out and enjoy the best possibilities in ourselves, in others, in society and in the world around us. I think of learning to love, trust and follow Jesus as one way of following that path. The Jesus that I’m talking is not any church Jesus, not any historical Jesus, and not any Jesus that anyone invents for themselves. It’s the Jesus who walks through the gospel stories.

I see the light that I’m thinking of being hidden, and people repelled from it, by people focusing on the beliefs instead of the stories and the fellowship of followers, and by the rivalry between people promoting their ideologies.

    No.

I don't really even know what that means.

I conceptualize Jesus as a messenger, delivered to us in the form of an example. The message being that if we will acknowledge that we have a divine spirit within us, and we will allow ourselves to become a living embodiment of that divine spirit within, we will be healed and saved from ourselves, and we will be able to help others to be healed and saved, as well. It's a message with a promise. And it's one that I have found to be true, and to deliver on it's promise.

Jesus is the rock star among all the prophets and messengers. Jesus did more than just give nice platitudes and a god-talk. He was a revolutionary who was sticking it to the man.

I see it is important to know that the man Jesus is a perfect polished mirror chosen by God to reflect the Light given by God to humanity. That light is what makes Jesus the Christ, born of the Holy Spirit. God gives this light to His chosen mirror in each age. They are known as the Prophets and Mesengers from God.

Thus when we turn to those lights and impart their teachings and laws into our lives, we in turn polish the mirror of our heart and reflect that light to humanity.

    Regards Tony

Now if you'd only read the bible so as to know what you're talking about.
