I find everyone’s relationship with God interesting, even people who desire no relationship, have interesting reasons for this. I enjoy asking questions and finding out what people think about God, how has God affected their physical lives or how God is included in their purpose and future.

If you want to see some real hot babes that are available you should go to the Kingdom Hall. Woweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I have had friends that married women less than half their age. Back in 1976 women were frowned apon if they wore slacks in the Kindom Hall so most wore dresses and skirts with heels. The younger ladies often war short skirts with slits up the side. Woweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:woohoo:

They vary. A few years ago, one older woman, just some 20 years younger 'n me, with a younger background companion (apprentice?) who might have been attractive if she'd known how to dress, knew nothing about the beliefs of JW or what's written in the Bible, and so I got into some heavy (and, sorry, too aggressive) arguing, using some thoroughly researched arguments from my Xian years. I bade them good-bye when finally getting tired of their ignorance.

Then, a few months later, I was approached by two young men, one of whom was very intelligent and well read on Bible matters. We had very interesting discussions on several Bible passages, but finally decided to depart as friends.

I wish they would leave us alone, not keen on their views about healthcare either!
I feel the same with street preachers,
I've come out for a nosy round the shops I don't want to be told that I am going to hell!
I am scared someone will convert me down the line though...like brainwashing *blink blink*

There are many JW's that are very knowledgeable of the Bible and able to carry on a very pleasant and informative debate regarding religions. Many others do not have the capacity to do this for various reasons. One of the things that really bothered me while goin door to door was when I had to do it with someone that was unable to carry the message in a knowledgable, friendly, and persuasive manner. Ughhhhhhhhh! Knock Knock!....Who's there?..........Nobody.:banghead3

This is the JW's view of Hell. It is one of the reasons I got hooked by them back in 1974. Much more comforting than an eternal torture in hellfire.

And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come matthew 24;14...... well it seems that this prophecy about the preaching of the Good news of the kingdom is being acomplished in these last days just as the bible said it would. JW are the only people who are making known about this established kingdom goverment that will bring peace to the earth. and the preaching about this kingdom was to happen for a witness to the nations this kingdom was established in the heavens in 1914 and JW do not hide the knowledge to themselves they make it known if people do not what to know about the established kingdom goverment that will bring peace to the earth ,that is their choice but people can never say that they have not had the chance to learn about it before armmagedon happens JW who go from door to door are from all walks of life some are thicko like me:) but some are very knowledgable , and it does not matter really because the purpose is for a witness , Jehovah can use anyone he likes just the fact that we are known as JW going from door to door is a witness in it self ,when the great tribulation breaks out everyone will know what they are saying no to. Jehovah will a complish his purpose even if opposers try to stop it . we are living in very thrilling times indeed

(Mark 13:10) Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first.

while I did not hold back from telling YOU any of the things that were profitable nor from teaching YOU publicly and from house to house ..acts 20;20

And every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus ....Acts 5;42

(Romans 10:18) Nevertheless I ask, They did not fail to hear, did they? Why, in fact, "into all the earth their sound went out, and to the extremities of the inhabited earth their utterances.

(Revelation 14:6) And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, and he had everlasting good news to declare as glad tidings to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people

These are rather general statements. In fact i find that if someone has their own beliefs they'll tell us like it's a reason to not discuss anything and im more than happy to talk about their beliefs.

as regards the unexpected calls, what do you want us to do? possibly write a letter of appointment? 'Dear sir, we shall be knocking at your door next saturday, 9:30ish." Besides if people knew we were coming, they'd wouldn't come to the door no?

Just a note a note on our preaching methods. WE usually knock on peoples doors because, well you know, we expect that's the best place to find people.

We also do street witnessing and business witnessing. The latter is where we go in to shops for example and give literature to the employees.

JW are making it known that Jesus is now king of Gods heavenly kingdom goverment .and he was made king in the heavenly kingdom in 1914 this was the start of the lords day , and is also the time of the end for man to rule himself independent of God. do we recognize this kingship of Jesus ,if we do we are putting ourselves inline for lots of blessings , even everlasting life on a paradise earth . if we dont recognize Jesus kingship then he will not recognize us

The world must know that Jehovah is God and that Jesus Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords. This is the day of all days. Behold, the King reigns!

One reason why the first-century Jews did not recognize the Messiah was their refusal to accept Scriptural signs pointing to his Messiahship.

"My kingdom is no part of this world. If my kingdom were part of this world, my attendants would have fought than I should not be delivered up to the Jews. But, as it is, my kingdom is not from this source."—John 18:36.......yes Jesus said this because he knew that his kingdom was a heavenly kingdom , not a kingdom set up on the earth ,but it was in heaven. and now it is set up and ready to take action against any who do not recognise his kingship DANIEL 2;44

And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.................. YES SOON THIS KINGDOM WILL CRUSH AND PUT AN END TO ALL MANMADE GOVERMENTS so whos side do we want to be on , Gods or mans ,i have made my choice:)

The Bible lists six identifying marks of false prophets, any one of which is sufficient for identification: (1) through signs and wonders they lead astray after false gods (Dt. 13:1-4); (2) their prophecies don't come to pass (Dt. 18:20-22); (3) they contradict God's Word (Isa. 8:20); (4) they bear bad fruit (Mt. 7:18-20); (5) men speak well of them (Lk. 6:26); and (6) they deny that Jesus, the one and only Christ, has come once and for all in the flesh (1 Jn. 4:3), thereby denying His sufficiency in all matters of life and godliness (2 Pe. 1:3). Most cults are founded upon false prophecies, which, if pointed out, offer an effective way to open blind eyes and rescue cultists. Russell's false prophecies formed the basis for what became The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and the Jehovah's Witnesses. Russell declared that the Second Coming had taken place invisibly in October 1874, and the Lord was truly present, and that in 1914 the faithful (the 144,000) would be translated to heaven and the wicked destroyed. Armageddon (which began in 1874) would culminate in 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's rulers and the end of the world. C.T. Russell, still on earth, died in 1916.

In the early 1920s, JWs zealously distributed on the streets and from door to door a book titled Millions Now Living Will Never Die. It was prophesied, "The year 1925 is a date definitely and clearly marked in the Scriptures, even more clearly than that of 1914 ... we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old ... to the condition of human perfection" ("Millions Now Living Will Never Die," The Watchtower, 7/15/24, p. 89). The JWs even built a house in San Diego where the patriarchs were to live and tried to deed it to King David. (The house was quietly sold in 1954.) In the early 1940s, JWs were declaring that Armageddon, only months away, would end World War II and the defeat of the Nazis would usher in God's rule on earth (The Watchtower, 12/41). Their book, Children, suggested that plans to marry and have children be postponed until after Armageddon. It's been a long wait! Not giving up, they later prophesied that God's millennial kingdom would commence in 1975. Again JWs were told not to engage in any plans for this world, including marriage and having children. Many quit their jobs, sold their homes, and dedicated themselves to going door to door. (Source: 3/97, The Berean Call.) All in all, the Watchtower has predicted the end of the world for 1914, 1918, 1925, 1975, and 1989.

JW leadership claims its victims by asserting itself to be the sole Christian religion and authority on the earth today, as well as God's mouthpiece or prophet. The Watchtower further disrupts families through its harsh and unbiblical interpretation of "disfellowshipping" and the practice of "shunning." Family members who are former JWs are labeled by Watchtower adherents as "apostates" and prevented from even social contact. Disfellowshipped or disassociated children, parents, and grandparents are kept from any type of communication with active members of the organization. Divorces are common within the sect when one member becomes disillusioned with Watchtower teaching and mind-control.

Not only has the name of this cult been changed time and again, but they also change their doctrines regularly -- between 1917 and 1928, they changed their doctrines 148 times! (Prior to 1931, Jehovah's Witnesses had also gone by the names of Millennial Dawn, People's Pulpit Association, The Brooklyn Tabernacle, and the International Bible Students Association.) Russell died in 1916 and was replaced by the second president, Joseph F. Rutherford. "A process of replacing Russell's writings with Rutherford's began in 1921 with the publication of Rutherford's Harp of God. Between 1921 and 1941, Rutherford was to write twenty books and numerous pamphlets, which would slowly revise the doctrine and structure left him by Russell" (Encyclopedia of American Religions, G. Melton, Vol. 1, p. 485). One of Rutherford's books that caused a great amount of controversy was the seventh volume of the Studies in the Scriptures

yes 1914 was a very significant date indeed and now Jesus reigns in all his glory , what a great work that Jesus is doing for his father Jehovah , he is restoring true worship .no longer are Gods people in slavery to false religion . yes babylon the great , ( the world empire of false relgion)has indeed fallen and is on death row so to speak, yes that woman called babylon the great in revelation ,is on her way out for Good .she has no hold on Gods people ,only true worship for Gods people .what a grand refining work has been going on . Thrilling stuff indeed, what great times we are living in, restoration of true worship has been going on in these last days the lords day started in 1914 and what great things Jesus is accomplishing right now .bring it on

Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth

(1 Timothy 2:4) whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth

(Ezekiel 36:23) ‘And I shall certainly sanctify my great name, which was being profaned among the nations, which YOU profaned in the midst of them; and the nations will have to know that I am Jehovah,’ is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, ‘when I am sanctified among YOU before their eyes.

(Ezekiel 38:23) And I shall certainly magnify myself and sanctify myself and make myself known before the eyes of many nations; and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.

    May,

How do JWs explain all the prophecies that never came to pass? I'm curious because I know of several people that left the JWs after learning of this history (which apparently was never taught to them) because they believed that it proved the Watchtower Society false. I'm not trying to attack you, just being curious, but do most JWs even know about the frequently revised dates for Armageddon?

    James

there is no date for armaggedon, in the past there was uncertainty about how Jesus would come into kingdom power the early bible students did not at the time have understanding about the great crowd of OTHERSHEEP spoken of in revelation 7;9 at one time they thought that all followers would go to heaven but in 1935 it was revealed to them that the understanding about the other sheep would be an earthly hope to live forever on a paradise earth, in the past when it was annouced that millians now living will never die) that was correct because now there are nearly 7 millian JW and after all armageddon could have come then , but we do not know the day or the hour the important thing to do is to stay around and keep awake to the fullfillment of prophecy and to keep on the watch .but in away the people who did not wait around and went away from the channel that God is using , also served a purpose it did a refining work and sieved out those who were really not Gods people . in fact the ones who fall away are the ones who are working for the other side (satan the devil) because what normally happens is that they are very bitter and critical and oppose true worship ,if a person does not what to be a JW fair enough, but 9 times out of ten you will find that the aim is to oppose true worship after they fall away . i think that changes of thought and new understanding about the scriptures is very thrilling, but to others i think it shows up their heart condtion. as far as i am concerned i look forward to new understanding in these last days , it is a progressive understanding, and that is what i like , who knows what the future understanding and revealing from Jehovah will reveal but one thing that i do know is that Jehovahs people never keep it to them selves it is always available to those who will hear and listen ,that is why the bible based mags that JW offer to the public are annoucing the established kingdom in the heavens because now we know that the kingdom was established in the heavens in 1914 and the work at hand is to make it known
And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come matthew 24;14
