in the NT james says that there is a name; which some are being called by and the rich blaspheme.

james was a jew so there would be the name that the jew swore not to take in vain.

was this the same name that the 144,000 have?

I think what the counsel at James 2:7 is referring to the poor being called by the name of Christ in the form of Christians. Considering James 2:5-9 would be more helpful. Compare 1 Corinthians 1:26-30, because I believe that it may help in understanding this post.
