It's true; fake news is a problem.

Oh, everybody does the 'fake news' bit. It used to be called 'Yellow Journalism,' and before that term got popular, it was just same-old, same-old. Have you ever read some of the headlines from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries?

What bugs me is this attitude from the left that ONLY the 'right' publishes such stuff, that they are as innocent as newly fledged doves....even as those newly fledged doves cast their effluvium on the nearest political opponent. DOES the right produce fake news?

Sure.

So does the left, and frankly I'm tired of the hypocrisy.

I never implied that "the left" doesn't do it, but Trump kicked off the recent parade of conservatives loudly bellowing "fake news" like the boy who cried wolf.

The real problem is that the right keeps trying to use this charge of 'hypocrisy' to excuse itself entirely. When in fact, the vast majority of fake news is being created and disseminated by corporate sponsored right-wing media outlets that cater to people's willful ignorance, self-centered dishonesty, fear, greed, and shameless egotism, for power and profit. It's the classic debate fallacy of using the imperfections of the accuser to try and unilaterally dispel the accusation. "If the accuser is not perfect, the accusations are irrelevant."

I should think you would be "tired of it", since no matter how many times you repeat this weak counter-accusation, it's not going to fly with anyone who is willing and able to reason properly.

So CNN publishes a story about fake news after 3+ years of fake news, and you want to say its Trump crying wolf.

That's rich!

Oh, get over it. The left has been yelling about 'Faux News" and calling the right names for years. I don't see a difference, except that the left seems to get all huffy about being called on THEIR fake news.

Y'know, I posted a thing yesterday, where I found a Wikipedia article about 'fake news.' It was enlightening, and amusing. EVERY example the authors used was by a right wing publisher/author. Every example, that is, but one; that one was by a left wing guy who was publishing fake news about left wing targets in such a broad satirical way as to be ludicrous, and his plaint was that too many people took it seriously. His entire purpose was to make the right look silly for disseminating such stuff. It was solidly, though he denied it, aimed at left wing targets.

In the middle of the article, though, there was this little bitty disclaimer that stated that 'fake news' was a BIPARTISAN issue, and that the left wing was just as guilty as the right, according to everybody who actually looked at such articles and compared them.

.....and yet the entire article was so obviously biased left that anybody who skimmed over it (and missed the disclaimer) would have simply assumed that you are correct; only the right does this stuff and the left is lily pure.

Which makes that Wikipedia article on fake news....fake news.

Tell me; is your definition of fake news "any article that makes my side look bad," and True News is 'anything that makes the people I don't like look bad?"

Any particular examples, out of curiosity? I don't doubt they have some bias, but let's substantiate the accusations.

Sure let's just pretend like 3 years of Russiagate collusion fake news reporting from CNN and MSNBC didn't happen.

But you know here's a lil video to entertain you while you ignore reality.

Except that tЯump actually IS guilty of collusion... so there's that little problem.

He's also guilty of multiple counts of rape, multiple repeated "bankruptcy", multiple failed businesses, multiple examples of NOT paying his debts, a systematic record of racism, even his "charity" was proven to be fraud, and forced to close.

In fact? Nothing about tЯump has merit. But Evangelicals eat him up for some reason...

... the total hypocrisy from these people is astounding.

Obviously not the Mueller report implicitly clears him on collusion.

If he's guilty of rape how come he's not in jail? Obviously he's been accused, but anyone can accuse anything. Bob the Unbeliever raped me. Well I guess that settles it you're now a convicted rapist, I expect you to turn yourself into the authorities a.s.a.p.

Innocent until proven guilty is how this works in the U.S. not guilt based on "feelings".

... the total hypocrisy from these people is astounding.

Some self reflection is in order. Trump was a Democrat for the past 40 years. He only became a Republican shortly before 2016 election just to get a nomination from a party. Of course he wasn't a racist when he was a democrat... odd. Here is Oprah asking if Trump would consider running for President. She wasn't overly concerned about his "racism" then.

Don't expect the Socialist left to ever admit to that due to their severe affliction of having an overbloated superiority complex about themselves.

CNN wrongly accused Covington Catholic High School student and MAGA cap wearing Nick Sandmann of being rude and racist towards native American elder Nathan Phillips when it was in fact Nathan Phillips who had approached Nick Sandmann against whom Nathan Phillips was acting confrontational and belligerent towards the young Trump supporter .

Except Fox News has a long, well documented history of distortion and dishonesty. Again, not saying that other networks haven't been guilty of it, but the proportions are measurable and verifiable. Also, a a lot of times when someone squeals "fake news", it's only because it was an unfavorable report rather than something that was actually inaccurate/misleading. It's creepy and disturbing how so many idolize and hero worship Trump as if he were incapable of misdeeds or failure.
