Italy and New Government

Bob Jones

Prove It!
Now that Matteo Salvini has been ousted in his job, the question remains: Will Italy resume its taxi service? If I remember correctly my history, did not President Carter order a humane naval blockade of Haiti? Was not this blockade a success? So why cannot Europeans follow the precedent of President Carter?

In the early 1970s, Haitians began migrating by sea to south Florida without authorization. Influential economic and social elites in that region pressed for federal action to deter this population stream. Until 1981, arriving Haitian boat people were detained in Florida, and most were deported as rapidly as possible. Since 1981, the U. S. government has used the Coast Guard to intercept boats laden with Haitian migrants. Since May 1992, "interdicted" Haitian vessels have been escorted back to Haiti, without affording passengers an opportunity to request political asylum in the United State. I'm no expert in Italian politics but it seems to be a coalition against an extreme right wing politician.
Exactly ...a politician named Matthew Salvini whom I deeply love. Who hates this European Union profoundly.

It seems to be Mr. Conte´s government with an extreme liberal party. Strange bedfellows!
Being a parliamentary Republic, parliamentarians can do and undo governments continuously, through political coalitions, without any elections .

This is a pro-EU coalition, created to fight the inexorable rise of a Souverainist, Nationalist and Populist Right-Wing whose leaders are Salvini and Meloni.

If you have seen that video , Le Pen and Salvini are like brother and sister...they will recreate a new Europe also thanks to Brexit.
A Europe for Europeans only.

Dante said in 1300 Italy was the slave of Germany. Nothing has changed since then

Ahi serva Italia di dolore ostello
Nave senza nocchiere in gran tempesta
Non Donna di province ma bordello

I don't know what you are talking about. From the context I assume that it is some sort of policy towards attempts at irregular immigration to Italy. In that case, you may have answered your own question right there:

Jimmy Carter. History will someday make justice to him. Americans never had or even pursued any POTUS nearly as good since.

That said, he was very much as product of his time and culture, as all Presidents are. He did not enable humane treatment of illegal immigrants, the American population enabled him to enforce it.

Immigration policies are always difficult, because they deal with things beyond that nation's own control. That is one of many reasons why I do not have time to give Nationalism the time of the day. Carter may or may not have realized and accepted that, but he is a very humane person who would and did go out of his way to pursue solutions that did not cause unnecessary harm. The man is a fricking saint, I tell you.

Whether current day Italy (or any other nation) is up to emulate his example to any extent is mainly up to their willingness to embrace the responsibilities of existing in a time of so much overpopulation and the political collapse that rising nationalism demands of itself.

I am not optimistic, but I would love to be proven otherwise. And this was very much a step in the right direction.

You will not want to subject your allies to my opinion about right wing nationalism.

I, however, just might want to.
Same thing as for France. Marine Le Pen was the first party...she was going to win..then this Macron came out of nowhere....ruining everything.
