It’s November 2020. You’re sitting on the couch, watching the election results come in on your network of choice. Maybe it’s as you predicted. Maybe you’re shocked by the outcome. Maybe you’re sad/angry. Maybe you’re ecstatic. Why do you feel the way you do? Because Trump won. He was re-elected.

You wake up the morning after the election and think intelligently about the results.

Now answer this question: How or why did Trump win?

I thought maybe this should be under jokes/stories. :)

I'd feel less concerned. At least we'll put off the march to socialism for another 4 years.

Why did Trump win. Because a majority would rather be disgusted by Trump than be frightened by having a socialist in charge.

The Democratic vote just doesn't show up. In this timeline, we can theorize that Trump would ultimately win against an opponent that disenfranchises the newest generation of voters. This would happen if we get another status quo politician. The Democrats would need someone with energy in addition to their policy, which they don't get in this timeline. The most obvious nomination to fuddle it up would be Joe Biden. He has enough of a history that he is politically vulnerable and he is another old white guy. Snoozer. After his nomination, Biden slowly loses independent women as the right plays heavily into the narrative of Uncle Joe being the creepy old guy. Hypocrisy doesn't matter here, it is enough and the younger generation decides to the take the election off or they vote for Trump for the memes. Trump wins in devastating fashion and we get trouble, but that is enough for now.

President's rarely loose with a good economy. If the economy remains strong, Trump should win.

Trump won because of his savvy trade deals, deregulation of businesses, as well as the Tax Cut and Jobs Act our POTUS along with the G.O.P. Congress enacted in 2018 had spurred nearly unprecedented economic growth, wealth, and prosperity. In addition to a strong economy, Trump's sensible approach towards immigration reduces crime and improves our national security. Furthermore, the independent minded non-partisan voters overwhelmingly reject the overly socialistic and radical environmentalist policies espoused by the Democratic Presidential candidate.

Biden, as V.P., allegedly swam nude in front of female secret service agents, now that's just really creepy for this ole' guy as Vice President to have strut his junk around like that.

There is considerable evidence of him of being inappropriate, I will give you that.

This winner. :)

Not this initially amusing, but then nauseating, sad joke that hurts my forehead both from the headache induced, as well as bruising from all the forehead slapping.

The economy stays strong, Trump doesn't get us into another war, and the Democrats are horribly fractured beyond repair between the moderates and the far-left regressives.

Reasons Trump won.

#1 Trump wins on his economy.
#2 The Dems chose either Biden or Bernie as nominee (neither can beat Trump)
#3 The Mueller Report uncovered corruption and the ensuing arrest/trials/conviictions of the DNC, damaging its credibility.

Socialism sounds really good, until you have to pay for it. Nothing is free.

Now, if overnight we could reinvent the world and make it a cashless society which functions purely on excessive generosity maybe it would work. But, it's a bit of putting of putting the cart before the horse, as usual. However, such a move to such a utopia would require ones country to be entirely self-sufficient for awhile -- the USA is not, nor is any other country -- this chains the economics to cash-based trade. Cash-based economies aren't evil, they're just a necessity at the moment. So, I understand full well what the socialist have as aims but also digress that their method of achieving them is ill-conceived at best and a complete blunder at worst.

I have a slight variation on the same theme.

It's election night, 2020. All the news channels are covering the election, and Trump is losing badly. However, there's a firestorm of tweets about "fake news," "fixed election," "foreign collusion," "hacking." Trump vows he will not give up.

The next morning, you wake up to the sound of patriotic music on the radio. You turn on the TV, and they're announcing that Trump won a "unanimous victory." You log on to Religious Forums and notice that every anti-Trump post has been changed into glowing praise for Trump.

You go outside and notice that everyone is wearing "Make America Great Again" hats. It seems a bit ominous as there are some military vehicles about and some police checkpoints. The police stop you and ask where your MAGA hat is, and you tell them that your dog ate it. They believe you and immediately give you another one.

You see someone you know and ask them just what in the heck is happening. They start laughing uncontrollably as they go skipping down the street. Another person comes up to you and says "Psst, if you want to join the underground resistance, come with me."

FACT CHECK: Who Gets Credit For The Booming U.S. Economy?

Shame it's not all (much) due to Trump. We've been improving steadily for almost a decade.

Turnout turnout turnout. And the existence of the electoral college.

In this timeline, I am watching this take place from Vancouver, BC, so I can't say I am all that surprised by it.
But it happened because Americans were once again duped by advocates of fear, instead of rational discourse and effective policy making.

Interesting comment. Trump seems more interested in policy making than the Dems. They’re more focused on investigation than policy making.

Note that I said "effective" policy making. I disagree with a lot of his policies; and besides that I also don't see him as a man willing to compromise either unless it explicitly benefits him (not the nation).

It sure would be nice if Dems did something of substance.
