Israel: The land of milk and honey

Religious Zionist
Israel: The land of milk and honey

"I come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey." Exodus 3:8

Shavuot is a multi-faceted holiday. It has a historical meaning, celebrating the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai and the end of the seven weeks of walking in the desert during which the Jewish people prepared for the event. It also has agricultural significance, reminding us of the bounty of the land of milk and honey by marking the beginning of the wheat harvest and the bringing of the season's first fruits to the Temple.

And the "land flowing with milk and honey" has never before produced so much milk and honey. In honor of Shavuot, when many Israelis will adorn their homes in greenery and kibbutzim will celebrate with harvest pageants, The Jerusalem Post offers some facts about the symbols of Israel's bounty, the milk in our refrigerators and the honey on our shelves. Oh, and we didn't forget the recipes.

I don't mean to start an argument here and i'm sorry if I insult anyone, but Israel is more the land of blood and greed.
