Peace,

These two corrections of the Quran of the Bible are overlooked by majority of Muslims including majority of Shiites.

The importance of Ismail (a) being son of Sarah (a) has many implications.

(1) It safeguards the meaning of an "Ahlulbayt" and keeps it's integrity.
(2) It shows the story of cruelty out of jealousy towards a slave is not true which has many implications to human rights.
(3) The correction is important to account for if slavery was never allowed by God.
(4) It shows alternative purposes of Ismail (a) settling where he did which has to do with preparing for Mohammad's (s) arrival.
(5) It keeps the integrity of Sarah (a) as a chosen kind soul, that would never do what she supposedly did to Hajar.
(6) It helps emphasize Hassan (a) is not less than Hussain (a) and vice versa, but who God's puts succession to in offspring in covenant has a wisdom. Similar reason as to why Prophets (a) of Bani-Israel were in offspring of Haroun (a) and not Musa (a).

The importance of Haroun (a) being successor of Musa (a) has many implications.

(1) It also safeguards the meaning of an "Ahlulbayt" and keeps it's integrity.
(2) It safeguards the meaning of Twelve Captains of the covenant of Musa (a) to pertaining to his successors.
(3) The above safeguards the flow to the day God completed his religion, and verses 5:55 and 5:67 and shows what Ali (a) Welayat is about and thaqalain hadith (Two weighty objects, Quran and my family) is about.
(4) The above manifests the importance of the number twelve with respect to God's covenants of his founders
(5) Haroun (a) being successor also keeps the integrity of all God's chosen as non-trivial people that belief in the second or third or seventh or tenth is all as important as belief in the founder.
(6) Shows a wisdom as to why Haroun (a) is mentioned in Quran but not Yushua ibn Noon.
(7) The famous accepted as authentic hadith by Sunnis that Ali (a) has position of Haroun (a) to Musa (a) meaning even becomes more clear.
(8) Gives the right meaning of branches (asbat often translated as tribes) which is emphasized to twelve pertaining to Musa (a) and the proper creed and religion is emphasized with Ibrahim (a) and the branches (of his) as well.
(9) The above leads to the concept of rivers of light or seas of light - the Jaffar name with respect to the Twelve branches and also safeguards the meaning of Absat which has to do with branches of trees in Arabic while the similar word in Hebrew has to do with splitting of rivers. The linkage of the terms shows Hebrew understanding which was not possible for Mohammad (s) as it is a revived language that happened recently showing a miracle in Quran (there are others of these sorts).

Why are these two facts not seen in Quran by majority of Muslims including majority of Shiites? Something to reflect about.

Not a muslim, but, I think it's an important part of the story in the hebrew bible that great leaders and as you called them, kind chosen souls, can make mistakes and fall, like sarah is protrayed. Conversely great chosen souls can make mistakes and rise above them like ishmael is portrayed.

Peace,

I appreciate your feedback. What I say I don't mean to offend, but just dialogue my different outlook.

I understand Tanakh has chosen ones fall, like Solomon (a) dies a pagan, and leaves his chosen status and high status to a low one. Saul (a) becomes jealous of David (a) and so on and so forth.

I've asked a Jehohova witness if they believe Jesus (a) can turn evil when he comes back. They say no. I say, same with us for all of God's chosen. God trusts them and witnessed their true promise and resolve, that they are like that as far not deviating.

I can ask similar to a Jew, do you believe that Moses (a) or the Mosiach (which is supposed near Moses (a) in rank type of chosen) (a) can deviate? Can the promised one from the line of David (a) turn evil when he rises up and rules? I think you will say no.

Well we believe that God's chosen are all like that.

They can come in moments of peril as did Adam (a) and Nuh (a) when questioning God's words, but they quickly redeem themselves and repent. If God didn't know they would always turn back to him, he would not have trusted them with their exalted position of leadership (priesthood/Imamate).

Also their sins are not purposeful deviations. Adam (a) was tricked but it was because he was sincere and truthful that he trusted Iblis. Nuh (a) misunderstood God's (swt) words and was trying to make sense of them. Musa (a) lost his patience and blew his cover when he saw people oppressed. These are not really sins, but good deeds, just beneath their status.

It's not a problem. It's difficult for me to imagine you offending me, and I am very imaginative :)

Speaking only for myself: for Moses? Absolutely. He is human. For the future king at the end of days? That depends. At a certain point in that individual's, let's call it, destiny no, they will no longer be capable of even turning towards evil. And, no one else will either. But before that point, yes. Some say it's required.

Proverbs 24:16

כי שבע יפול צדיק וקם ורשעים יכשלו ברעה׃

For a Tzadik falls seven times, and yet rises up again; but the wicked stumble into calamity.

Okay let's work with this. Why is that everyone will and Mosaic at that point can no longer turn evil? What is it about it that keeps them from doing so?

They way Isma (protection) with respect to God's chosen is explained in Quran and hadiths, is that there was three worlds/times where Ahlulbayt (a) were a proof. There is this world, the next, and pre-world also called "Aloola" (The first place) and alamal adar (the world of simple existence).

The pre-world where everything was plain souls, no forms. Mohammad (s) and his family (a) responded to God foremost and first in that race, then God took a covenant with himself and with them over others. There all souls were tried. The best ones in response to Ahlulbayt (a) became Prophets (a) and God saw that they were resolved and true enough in resolve and promise to not deviate. He saw their resolve and love, and trusted them to remain aloof from the lower worlds deviations and allurement. Then he took a promise with the Prophets (a) and chosen households (a) over others.

The heavenly women were also like Prophets (a) seen as pure and would not deviate. God saw they were true and guaranteed to remain upon the path. They were chosen for paradise. This is why Fatima Al-Zahra (a) is said to be one of houral ayn, because she has no possibility of not entering paradise, but God has brought her in this world as a mercy to mankind.

Notice Quran only emphasizes that he knows what is before the chosen intercessors and what is after them. That he knows their path. He does not use this expression for others.

Others he says he is trying them and is yet to see who will be patient or enter paradise, and is yet to know if they will be striving his way, and is trying them to know their states and news.

So the people of earth, we are here, because we are volatile. Our future is unknown, and God wants to see if we will be true to our promise or fail to it, because our promise is not resolved enough that he knows we won't deviate.

There are at least 4 options. All four will be happening simultaneously at the end of days.
  1. The inner evil inclination will be annihilated by the few who can do so.
  2. The inner evil inclination will be immobilized by those who can do so.
  3. The inner evil inclination will be constantly kept busy rendering it harmless, chasing its own tail, a fool's errand, by those who can do so.
  4. Some combination of 2 & 3 by the vast majority.
Prior to the end of days, some people will be able to accomplish each of these some of the time. But because, everyone and everything is connected in spirit, literally, everyone and everything needs to accomplish it all at once and sustain it. Maybe for 24 hours, Maybe for just over a week, I'm not sure. But once the evil inclination is , let's call it, decomissioned for a short period of time, the cycle of blessing will be flowing perpetuating goodness, and the world-to-come will be a reality. Please God soon and in our days. Amen, Amen.

Understood. Fair enough. I believe similar with the Mahdi (a) as a possibility. Not a guarantee. That is why there is two type of waiting, in Quran. There is the mockingly passively way and there is the fearful and hopeful way.

I believe there many type of prophecies regarding the Mahdi (a). One is that humanity passes the final trials and we accept the Mahdi (a), Elyas (a), Isa (a), Idris (a), Khidr (a) and the other remaining ones from the chosen households of the past. This will lead to high knowledge and people will be very close to God. He will unite people on the word of guarding and people will love one another and help one another to good.

Another is similar to how Nuh (a) was meant to be mercy to the people he was sent to, but turned out punishment due to how they treated him and his followers, similar can happen with the Mahdi (a). That is majority of humans destroyed by catastrophe like the way Lot's (a) people were destroyed or Ad and Thamood in Quran. This is God's words "There is not a city/town except we will destroy it or punish it severely before the day of judgment....". But this promise is conditional, it means if humans continue to rebel and the two promises in start of Surah Isra occur of mischief in the earth from mankind, this will occur. And the mischief will occur if we keep walking the warnings in Quran and wait passively.

The promises are there if we rebel and do not take warnings seriously. The Haqah of Surah Haqah is in fact only certainly going to occur if the Mahdi (a) is rejected. Otherwise, the destructions can be avoided of the cities of earth just as Nuh's (a) people could've avoided it.

I don't know which case is most likely now. I'm more pessimistic and think the cities over all will be destroyed and that mankind is going to fail the final trials. The delay of the appearance of the Mahdi (a) is a mercy so we get our act together and avoid the warnings. But if believers are oppressed, just like Moses (a) was sent to save the believers community from their oppressors, in the time of peril God has put it upon himself to save believers. I hope this is not the track humans go, but I see it as highly likely.

And there is then two prophecies possible if we fail and few believers make it. The believers turn grateful and there is a long period of peace and justice on earth. Or the other more likely scenario, we begin to question the Mahdi (a), start to accuse him of power and sorcery, put doubts, and then reject him ungratefully as did many believers act after being saved by God in the past.

We'll see what happens. I believe worse case scenarios are most likely but don't know which ones are going to happen. As expressed Surah Jinn, "we do not know if God wishes evil for the people of earth or wants for them guidance".

Try not to worry. God is the very best of planners.

Try not to worry. God is the very best of planners.
God's plans are best, but his back up plans are warned about before they happen. There is the promises if we obey, and promises if we disobey, and promises if enough helpers and promises if barely anyone helps.

All I can do is try my best, and change what I can. But I do worry, and it motivates me.
