As-salamu alaikum,
Because a lot of Muslims avoid being too near to dogs, some of the non-Muslims say "Muslims hate dogs" when in reality Islam teaches the saliva of a dog is impure and dogs are not to be kept as pets within the house.
Then on the Internet the Islamophobics post pictures of animals being slaughtered and apparently suffering greatly. But it's essential to understand that a) If the throat isn't cut right; the animal remains suffering - this isn't halal slaughter. It is haram slaughter b) the environment where the animal is slaughter is ideally supposed to be calm. C) the animal must ALAWAYS be treated well, with respect and kindness for as long as they live. And d) the methods of slaughtering in the western countries is not something to look up to. There the animals certainly suffer all their lives (with exceptions in good farms).
