Today someone said something that really resonated with me:
He said that "Christianity is a team effort" and that it is something one does with others rather than by one's self
I'm inclined to agree with this
Would you say that your religion is a team effort, or not?
Makes it sound as if you need to get a ball to the end zone and score a touchdown.Today someone said something that really resonated with me:

Yes. Most definitely. Body of christ doesn't mean one person. The bible always written that people are chosen as a group. That's why I like the church (most liturgical denominations) in that respect. You confess you want to be christian to the body of christ not just yourself. You're baptized in the body of christ-the church-not just your spirit. You confess your sins to the church as one body not just to jesus.
so how to make a team from such disparate elements, that could say unanimously "all for one and one for all' and then give their utmost to make it so.....in this age of apathy and malaise ...with the blatant industry of self-interest we are surrounded by at every turn except for inside?Yes and we now need to be a Global Team.

given the results seen over time in this place, which should be a sort of vanguard for just that kind of social progress, does not really provide any evidence that would generate optimism [so far in any case]......same old arguments rehashed to no happy conclusion, with most abstaining from getting involved, just onlookers.....and who could blame anyone..... most of these threads go nowhere.First we must acknowledge our oneness as a human species and agree all have the right to live with their basic needs met and to be educated.
We need motivation to pursue these goals.

by then it is too late and the cycle is already repeatingIt works one person at a time. It appears it takes catastrophic events for people to do it together.
May a lot are waiting for such an event, before they choose to do it of their own free will?

no point in closing the gate after the horses have left the corral.
...you call all this "getting better"There are cycles within cycles, so the long term aim is possible, we have been getting better at it for 1000's of years.

now that's some kind of "faith" right there, that is....
your optimism is simply staggering
My religion is both. "The group helps the individual, and the individual helps the group. So it's a dynamic dance between the two, not just one, or the other. There are very few grea tteams without some strong individuals with in.Today someone said something that really resonated with me:
