Is the Internet being recorded?

I was just curious if everything on the internet is being recorded or "saved" on a giant memory chip.

...Because I think it would be interesting if I put (Landon Caeli) on my grave stone, under my real name, and then my great, great grandchildren could understand my mentality, by viewing my conversations here and on other forums.

Because I think I'm pretty straight forward in my conversations, and have expressed quite a bit here about how I think on many levels, and on many issues.

Like, say for example, someone who studies genealogy. I think being able to view an ancient ancestors thoughts would be pretty interesting. Even better than a diary, these conversations would be, because it even shows our temperment! Which is something new!

...So if anyone has anything they would like to say to their great grandchildren of the future, maybe we very well can.

So if any of mine ever read this, just know that I love you. Because you're part of me. And I hope that you like what you are. And keep your youthful memories that are good. :)

Oh, and if anyone ever sees the banjo, just know that I couldn't play it. :) I'm sure my great grandpa could, however. I played guitar in my younger days, but well -making a living became a priority, so I became more of a "listener". :)

Until the plug is pulled I suspect a good chunk of it is.

And really, it probably is. Just like what we do on our phones is being recorded, and the phone companies don't really mention it much except when the news media broadcasts it.

...Because we might not 'be ourselves' if we knew these digital files were being permanently saved... Until mankind no longer exists... Lol.

The internet is not centralized.

I've heard rumors and seen news articles on it. I am not sure exactly to what extent or how much info is being collected and saved. But intelligence agencies save a lot, and corporations save a lot. Recently FB got into a lot of trouble for saving the data from people using the voice to text function on FB messenger. So yeah if you've used the voice to text function on FB messenger, whatever you have said to others has been recorded and stored without your knowledge.

Facebook failed to disclose human voice chat transcription program

The govt keeps any and all data that gets flagged with key words. Words that could mean violence, threats, and other known codes.

Go search for something(a TV, truck, glasses, etc). Come back here and the ads you see will be that of what you searched. You are tracked more than you realise.

The information on the Internet is stored on the hard drives of web servers all over the world. Web servers are, at heart, ordinary computers just like yours

That's not your real name? You can't trust anybody anymore.

I was working as a software engineer for the Defense department in the early 90s. It was pointed out to me by the Crypto Key Master of the Australian Army that Australia was signatory to a multilateral agreement to monitor and record all communications channels. This was not secret, just not publicised.

Given the extraordinary capabilities of AI systems, which thrive on astronomical amounts of data, I doubt that anything is ever permanently deleted. The data is just too potentially valuable, and new uses for it will be found. I know that the internet’s ‘memory’ is distributed across servers all over the planet, but all of that information can be gathered and stored...somewhere.

“we might not 'be ourselves' if we knew these digital files were being permanently saved”

Too late to care about that. Privacy is such a 20th century concept.
