I guess it depends on what one thinks of what is expected of them in their religion vs. what such a person really, really wants.

    Yes.

Personally I think one leave ones own "wants" outside of the practice. And do as asked. But it is ok to ponder why God ask of us what God does.

I agree with the latter, even though I try to be unquestionably loyal to God.
The first part of what you said, well, I think there's still some kind of wanting needed to be religious in the first place.

    Yes, more difficult than Baha'i.

Sometimes a religious practice become difficult because of people around us too.

Being a religious person in RF is maybe the most difficult of all.
But one has to face it to grow from within.

Even then one has to require the desire to stay loyal, a desire to do "the right thing".
Though I agree that when someone is devoted and disciplined enough, it may come more and more naturally.

Not any more, at least for me. G-d's laws are good and simple, Abrahamic's laws are garbage toss them in the trash they deserve. Never felt better.

Don’t know about religion, but in my experience life is far harder without faith than with it.

It is difficult because the laws are archaic and based on superstition.

If the rules were based on things which demonstrably do harm it would be easier to follow them.

    In my opinion.

I find it difficult, because the closer I get to Almighty God, the more I am opposed by devils :(

Perhaps the problem lies with perception of God and what God wants/commands?

I probably shouldn't answer really, given that I have never been religious in any proper sense, but I would maintain that life is easier without religions, mainly because one doesn't tend to have conflicting beliefs which might arise between the different faiths or between those that have a faith and those who don't or between what one might naturally feel, even if one has to work things out for oneself so often. But perhaps that is just me and not transferable to many others.

Dunno. Some people may have received a lot of affection / support / positive feedback etc. in their childhood or in their life, so they are absolutely convinced that Daddy (in Heaven) loves them and supports them in whatever they would like to do.

Others may not have received as much positive feedback etc. when they expressed their desires in childhood, so now they believe that "Daddy" is hard to please and that it's necessary to put their desires on the back burner to please "Daddy".

This has nothing to do with God for now, more with how we deal with authority figures.

While some things are inconvenient I find all the rules are needed.

I’d much rather eat donuts than broccoli. I’d rather sit on my butt than exercise.
We know that there are healthy and unhealthy ways to live.
These rules are not arbitrary or bigoted, it’s knowing how things work.

Gods laws are the same way. The most closely I follow them the healthier I am.

When I think of religion vs faith I am reminded of the movie 'Fiddler on the Roof', Tevya always conscience of being in God's presence.

Never did see that film. There’s still time though, perhaps I should plug that gap in my movie education.

I don’t think God much cares what religion we are. Seek and ye shall find, be ye Christian, Hindu, Zoroastrian or Jew.

It appears to vary greatly from person to person.
I'm lucky that religion is a burden I've never borne.
