    Is God Unknowable?
Apparently He's homophobic and has a disdain for facts.

    GINOLJC, to all.
having not read all the post. one thing is sure, we can KNOW GOD, even his Godhead and eternal Power. supportive scripture, Romans 1:19 "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them." LISTEN CAREFULLY, Romans 1:20 "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"
there is no excuse not to know. God reveals himself right at the beginning, Genesis 1:1.

Theology and Bible teach that one way we can know His manifested side (attributes) is from created things.

"... because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse." (Romans 1:19-20)
God's essence is defined as unknowable/unmanifested. (see apophatic theology)

Pseudo Dionysius describes the kataphatic or affirmative way to the divine as the "way of speech": that we can come to some understanding of the Transcendent by attributing all the perfections of the created order to God as its source. In this sense, we can say "God is Love", "God is Beauty", "God is Good". The apophatic or negative way stresses God's absolute transcendence and unknowability in such a way that we cannot say anything about the divine essence because God is so totally beyond being. The dual concept of the immanence and transcendence of God can help us to understand the simultaneous truth of both "ways" to God: at the same time as God is immanent, God is also transcendent. At the same time as God is knowable, God is also unknowable. God cannot be thought of as one or the other only. (Deirdre Carabine)

Hi PearlSeeker, I read your post. you quoted Roman 1 correctly, but apophatic theology, or negative theology is just that, "a" theology from Man's point of view. example as given, "Many of the ways in which we describe God include an apophatic aspect. For example, when we say that God is Spirit, we are also saying that God is not a physical being. Similarly, saying that God is infinite is to claim that He is not finite". this is incorrect, just as saying, "God is not a man", which is INCORRECT, God is the "ONLY", or TRUE MAN, we in Adam is only the IMAGE of the True Man. one scripture sets the stage that reprove this nonsense. Isaiah 46:10 "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:" see in the END, God obtained a body that allow him to be infinite, and finite at the same time. listen, Colossians 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.". right there is the deal breaker to man's nonsense. God had a body before the world was, in his MIND, Abstract, now concrete in linear time. just as the term "beginning" means in Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1. in "TIME", "PLACE", "RANK", and "ORDER". this is what bible prophecy is all about. let me say this again, THIS IS WHAT BIBLE PROPHECY IS ALL ABOUT. what is to come. scripture, 1 Peter 1:10 "Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:" 1 Peter 1:11 "Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow." STOP and think, the Spirit of Christ? .... was where? in, in, in, the prophets. which is the Holy Ghost. so, Christ, (flesh and Blood), is the Natural IMAGE of God in Flesh. a Spirit in Flesh, meaning having a body.
understand, Man was made in God's IMAGE ... right. question, "How can an IMAGE exist without the source?". it cannot be an IMAGE without a source. now read Isaiah 46:10 again. this will answer the question of the Image question, which is the Source is in the END TIMES, which was to Come. this, at the same time answer the Godhead of Just "ONE" person in the Godhead as in the IMAGE of a, a, a, Man. all theologies are useless if one just gets the GREATEST theology teacher of all TIMES, God himself, the Holy Spirit/Holy Ghost, the Lord Jesus himself. question, " who knows God better than God himself? " Thank you.

the IMAGE of God is a, a, a MAN. and man is an IMAGE of God in his CREATION, showing what God look like, in form, and also in character, or characteristics, (which is why the reason of the term "Son" for God, or the term SON OF GOD, shows us his, God's, characteristics in person). for the image is the EXPRESS, or EXACT image as the source, IN natural flesh, (see Hebrews 1:3), but only in resurrected flesh without blood is the Glory of GOD as a MAN, the TRUE MAN, and all are in HIM, as before we all were in Adam. understand when our Lord rose, he "APPEARED", in the form of the natural, but when he returns, we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is." so this is just the IMAGE that we're in now, not what's to come, when he returns in the glorified body.
you have a good post here, which have far reaching revelations when studied in full detail. just reading the post have enlighten he further and open up some other areas for consideration to understand. thank God for your post.
