God is experienceable. But to know something about the personality of God we have to go through the Son.

Of course, agreed, please let us consider the Son as being God's Holy Spirit, God's incarnated Word.

I think God expects us to use our reason. Not just have blind faith on something or have blind faith something is this or that. What is possible is to think. What is not possible is contradict yourself and expect that contradiction to be empirical evidence. Its not possible. It will not be empirical evidence to anything.

I may have very well had a close encounter with God during an out of body experience I had when I was 13 years old. This mystical experience happened to me immediately after I had a fainting spell from hyperventilating and holding my breath in such a way that I forced myself to pass out. When I woke up from this fainting spell, I was floating outside and above my body. While I was floating outside and above my body, everything in the room started spinning around me and then became brightly illuminated with a blinding white light which blinded me until I descended back into my body.

I personally believe that there could be some sort of powerful, profound cosmic force or entity out there, but I also personally believe that how the world's religions have perceived and portrayed god is largely a pile of *** pulls and presumptions.

Not all believers. Some are agnostics.

Considering how many religions have been made on the assumption of knowledge of deities, I'd say no.

How would one know to seek a singular god.
Why couldn't there be several or many?

Personality i only follow one God, but since I know very little about God, I am not the one saying it cant exist others. I just dont have the answer to it.

One way to answer this question is use a science fiction scenario that would appeal to the atheists, to gain some perspective. Picture aliens from a distant part of our Galaxy coming to earth. These aliens are a million years ahead of us in terms of technology and tech enhanced bio-evolution. They are nothing like we could ever imagine, being so advanced.

Seeing we are so far behind them, how much can we know and understand them, as they are? They would understand our limitations and and may decide to dumb down; assume a new form and nature, so they can communicate with us and not spook this fragile and infant species. This less evolved species; earthlings does not call the shots, even if they are arrogant.

This level of dumb down for the aliens may not be easy, in terms of wide scale perception, so they may also need to select certain members of our species, via neural brain scans, as having the potential neural matrix to intercept messages; prophets. Since seeing is believing, and since we cannot see them as they are, they will still be denied as they are. However, we may believe based on what we see and think they are; the dumb down version that is conscious.

If God created the universe, he would be billions of years ahead of these aliens who are a million years ahead of us. God would have to dumb down to the nth degree, to even to reach those sophisticated aliens and not spook them.

For the earthlings, the amount of needed dumb down would be amplified, so God may need to use some semi-advance intermediaries, who can catch a more advanced dumb down drift, They can then dumb down enough to reach the bottom feeder, earthlings. There were many prophets such as Muhammad. Jesus was the son of God and came as an intermediary.

Since there is so much separation from God the creator and the bottom of creation; humans, there will be misunderstanding, as people attempt to carve the nature of a dumb down version of God into stone and limit God to that. Faith in things not seem is important since it leaves open the option of change as we advance and can gain new perspective that can advance us to a place of less dumb down.

The true nature of God is not known to us. What we know is only what we have been allowed to see. The prophets see more and the intermediaries see even more than that. However, the latter two still need to dumb down what they know, since they are still dealing with those who lack a more direct connection to the deeper knowledge, that will come with time.

It doesn't make sense to me to decide how many
there are before seeking, & then seek only that 1.

BTW, Einstein felt that to study and accept science was probably the best way to get to know at least something about God, thus he didn't see much sense in rote prayer and many teachings. He tended to think that the vast majority of religious beliefs have no basis of evidence for them, but at least religions do make us realize that there's "Something" beyond just ourselves and our own ego.

At least we can know what the Bible tells about Him. For example:

He who doesn't love doesn't know God, for God is love.

FYI, from my understanding, the Bible never claims that God in unknowable. I suspect this idea comes from other beliefs.

What if somebody were better off by God not choosing to seek any god rather than finding a false god to follow that'd make the true God angry.?
