Is Deism a simplified form of Gnosticism at heart?
Deism's very core to me has always been Gnostic at heart. It's constant combining of wisdom and its strong stress on it has always led me to believe this.
Deism much like Gnosticism formed the same way and essentially split away from Christianity as it held such secular views about religion until it became its own "religion" or lack there of.
Deism's primary tenet is that wisdom(gnosis) alone will permit one to find god.
I consider this a form of Naturalist Mysticism.
