The resignations of several Iranian state journalists deal blow to Tehran’s ability to control narrative

    by, The Washington Post

“[Iranian viewers] were blatantly lied to,” said Ali Fathollah-Nejad, a visiting fellow at the Brookings Doha Center."

"Several journalists working for state media quit, announcing the moves in social media posts that have since disappeared. One state TV anchor, Gelare Jabbari, apologized on Sunday for “having lied to you on Iranian TV for 13 years.”

"The Tehran Province Association of Journalists released a searing statement through a state-controlled news agency. “What endangers this society right now is not only missiles or military attacks but a lack of free media,” the organization wrote. “Hiding the truth and spreading lies traumatized the public."

"Iran’s state media apparatus still appeared stunning for a country that ranked 170th out of 180 countries in terms of press freedom last year, according to Reporters Without Borders,"

People speaking their minds. I like it. This is a sign of hope and good will in the Iranian people.

...I also appreciate when @Link speaks his mind about things, being he's familiar with those parts.

I like it as well. We all hope and pray that President Trump and the Iranian army, can protect the Iranian people, who are speaking their minds, from being gunned down by the Iranian dictator.

I always liked the Iranian people themselves. It takes a lot of bravery to speak their minds in that part of the world.

Trump isn't protecting anyone. Protesters are being shot.
