Be your own guru
Tombs or places associated with great men in one's religion. Surely that is a wonderful experience. It brings your thoughts to what they said. I am a hindu. I was very happy to visit Adi Sankara's place of mahasamadhi (where he expired) at Kedarnath, high up in himalayas. Same experience at Golden Temple in Amritsar (After all Guru Nanak is ours also).

Sat Sri Akal
It is not to be considered meritious or anything - that is a ritual then. That is condemned. On the other hand there are Guruwaras at tombs etc as a remebereance of history - and Guru Granth Sahib ji is Installed there and people pray to God there as at any other non historcial Gurudawara - nothing to be felt special this whole creation is special! The speciality of historical Gurudwara is that it is sort of museum where to see history -thats all!
