Try what? What do you suggest we try?

At a minimum, a different attitude to approach the problem as a precondition to solving it. It is true that the ruling class are screwing us over and are engineering conditions that make it difficult to change, but it is not simply a fate that is imposed on us. knowledge is power and the most knowledge we have, the more we can fine tune our actions to have maximum impact.

If we spend our time waiting for a perfect solution, it will never come. But if we look for a better solution to the one we have, we can progressively take steps forward to improving the situation and our ability to deal with it. All our actions come with uncertainty- so the fact we could fail is not a reason to do nothing. Its a reason to look at the problem and to try and understand it to increase our chance of success. :)

What you don't seem to recognize is that "we" have given them permission to "screw us over". And "we" continue to elect their toadies to positions of power even though we know they will do the bidding of the plutocrats that own them through systemic, legalized bribery. And "we" are doing this because we hate each other far more than we resent the plutocrats that are actually screwing us over. Right now, a known pedophile, liar, and bribe-taking toady of the republican party is running for public office, and the republicans in his state don't care what he is, or what he's done, just so long as he beats whoever the democratic candidate is. They hate democrats more than they hate pedophiles, liars, and bribe-taking toady politicians.

How do you propose to "educate" those people so that they will unite with democratic voters, to get rid of the corrupt politicians, and to take control of the government back from the plutocrats? I really can't imagine what you could possibly say to them that would get them to set aside their hatred of the "evil democrats" so they would work together with those same democrats toward a common goal.

Unfortunately, reality is far more complex and interdependent then that. And once the slide into the abyss of social moral collapse gets significant momentum, there really isn't any stopping it even though more and more people will become willing and able to see it coming, and want to avoid it. The sad truth is that we'd rather blame each other than blame ourselves for allowing this to happen, by allowing these criminals and liars to stir up or ignorance and bigotry and turn us against each other.

No. It is a question of freedom and truth is the weapon of our struggle. It is the freedom to rise above the mere animal level of existence in which we are forced to adapt and be prisoners of circumstance and it is won by acquiring the knowledge and developing the tools with which we can become masters of our own destiny. We do not get our rights or our dignity from nature, nor they handed to us by the ruling class. We take them and seize the moment of opportunity to realise our interests. Whether we win or lose, we are worth fighting for.

I agree.

But there is no "we", here. This is an individual battle. You can't make other people want to rise above their own BS.

You'd be surprised what people can do when they believe in themselves.
