India has overtaken France to become world's sixth largest economy with some 2.6 trillion USD. And by the end of the year may become the fifth. The difference between UK GDP and Indian GDP (nominal) is very small. Overtaking Germany at 3.6 trillion USD is going to take some time. BY GDP (PPP) we are a clear third. We have a healthy growth rate of 7.5%. :)

What do you think India is doing right to cause such growth?

Business friendly policies of the recent governments and local entrepreneurship. India is young. Our growth rate has been at or near the top for quite some years now. There have been major economic reforms.

Yes, we have to keep the prices under control. Per capita income in India is dismally low.
