It is an interesting article in that it makes me wonder if it realizes that it is avoiding the significant points.

Plutarch pointed out over 2000 years ago that "no republic has long withstood a vast disparity in riches between its wealthiest and poorest citizens." The idea you can have both great wealth inequality and a republic is yanked from a bull's anus.

How does all this square with the data showing red states receiving more federal assistance?
