Ibn Arabi is one the greatest Arifs( Sufies ) in Islam. He wrote many books and articles, but two of them are the most important ones.
Al-Futuhat Al-Makkiyyah(الفتوحات المكية) is one of those two important books and the other one is Fosusol Hikam(فصوص الحكم).
The book Al-Futuhat Al-Makkiyyah has many different chapters. The 366th Chapter is about Imam Al-Mahdi( peace be upon him ). Here is the first part of chapter 366:
'Know that al-Mahdi (A.S.)must come, but he will not come until the earth is filled with injustice and oppression. He will fill it with justice and equity. Even if there remains a single day of the world, God will extend that day until that Caliph(successor) comes to Caliphate (ruling as a caliph).
Al-Mahdi (A.S.)is of the progeny of the Messenger of Allah and of the descendants of Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her. His grandfather is al-Husayn ibn 'Ali ibn Abi Talib[ 3th Shia Imam ]. His father is al-Hasan al-Askari[ 11th Shia Imam ], the son of Imam 'Ali al-Naqi[ 10th Shia Imam ], the son of Muhammad al-Taqi[ 9th Shia Imam ], the son of Imam 'Ali al-Rida[ 8th Shia Imam ], the son of Imam Musa al-Kadim[ 7th Shia Imam ], the son of Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq[ 6th Shia Imam ], the son of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir[ 5th Shia Imam ], the son of Imam 'Ali Zayn al-Abidin[ 4th Shia Imam ], the son of Imam al-Husayn[ 3th Shia Imam ], the son of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib[ first Shia Imam ], peace be upon him.
His name is the same as the Prophet’s name and the Muslims will pledge allegiance to him between Rukn and Maqam. He is like the Prophet and is similar to him in temperament, for no-one is closer to the unparalleled temperament of the Prophet (“Indeed you possess a great character” al-Qalam: 4) than his eminence Furthermore.'
واعلموا أنّه لابد من خروج المهدي لكن لا يخرج حتّى تمتلئ الأرض جوراً وظلماً فيملؤها قسطاً وعدلاً، ولو لم يكن من الدنيا إلاّ يوم واحد طوّل اللّه تعالى ذلك اليوم حتّى يلي ذلك الخليفة، وهو من عترة رسول اللّه ـ صلَّى الله عليه وآله وسلَّم ـ من ولد فاطمة رضي اللّه عنها، جدُّه الحسين بن علي بن أبي طالب ووالده حسن العسكري بن الإمام علي النقي (بالنون) ابن محمد التقي (بالتاء) بن الإمام علي الرضا بن الإمام موسى الكاظم بن الإمام جعفر الصادق بن الإمام محمد الباقر بن الإمام زين العابدين علي بن الإمام الحسين بن الإمام علي بن أبي طالب رضي اللّه عنه يواطئ اسمُه اسمَ رسول اللّه ـ صلَّى الله عليه وآله وسلَّم ـ يبايعه المسلمون بين الركن والمقام يُشبه رسول اللّه ـ صلَّى الله عليه وآله وسلَّم ـ في أخلاقه واللّه تعالى يقول: (وَإِنّكَ لعَلى خُلُق عَظيم)ـ
He says in the rest of his sayings that Imam Al-Mahdi is infallible( معصوم ).
May Allah hasten Reappearance of Imam Al-Mahdi( peace be upon him ).
