I smell something....
It's been long enough that I definitely belong in the new person category but there are some old timers here that still wander the halls that will remember me. For those that don't know me, I'm turk. I joined this forum almost 20 years ago and have come and gone like the in-laws that visit every holiday. I'll be hanging out for a while because I got a lot of things on my mind lately. Nice to meet you all or see you again!

Hi, I'm a noob who's only been around for 11 years. I don't do much, but I exist. Try to remember me or don't.

I quite like haggis. I see you have the traditional glass of scotch whiskey to go with it!

Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
Great Chieftain o’ the Puddin-race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,
Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
As lang ‘s my arm.

The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
In time o’ need,
While thro’ your pores the dews distil
Like amber bead.

His knife see Rustic-labour dight,
An’ cut ye up wi’ ready slight,
Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
Warm-reekin, rich!

Then, horn for horn, they stretch an’ strive:
Deil tak the hindmost, on they drive,
Till a’ their weel-swall’d kytes belyve
Are bent like drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
Bethankit hums.

Is there that owre his French ragout,
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
Wi’ perfect sconner,
Looks down wi’ sneering, scornfu’ view
On sic a dinner?

Poor devil! see him owre his trash,
As feckless as a wither’d rash,
His spindle shank a guid whip-lash,
His nieve a nit;
Thro’ bluidy flood or field to dash,
O how unfit!

But mark the Rustic, haggis-fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread,
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
He’ll make it whissle;
An’ legs, an’ arms, an’ heads will sned,
Like taps o’ thrissle.

Ye Pow’rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o’ fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu’ prayer,
Gie her a Haggis!

Robert Burns, Address to a Haggis

Hi turk. What's new?
Hi there! Oh, you know. A little of this and a little of that.
Love the avatar. Perfect grey area!
Thanks!
I don't have any in-laws. Nice to meet you!

Hey! I see you're from Iowa!

Me too.
Awesome to see a fellow Iowan. I'm a former New Yorker but I've been in the neighborhood for quite some time. Nice to meet you too.

11 Years is a nice run and existing is what I strive for daily.

Hi Turk, nice to meet you
Hi! Nice to meet you as well.

Worry not.
We won't run out of haggis this time.
It's scary looking but I want to taste it because I feel like I should...
And thanks for the re-greetings.
Welcome back! How is everyone?
