Being omniscient, before he even made A&E god knew they would fail his Apple Test, which would give him an excuse to saddle mankind with Original Sin.

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC:
Why did he make Original Sin the genesis of numerous exceedingly important, but difficult, rules of behavior

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC:
Why did he make sure no one would ever be capable of following all these rules?

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC:
Why did he make the consequences of failing to follow these rules so incredibly dire: an eternity in Hell?

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC
Why did he make this punishment so disproportionate to the the nature of the failure?

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC:
Why did he wait so long to offer his Get-Out-Of Hell Card: Jesus?

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC:
Why didn't he make sure everyone on Earth was apprised of this Card?

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC
Why didn't he make sure his Card was properly presented so no one would ever question its authenticity?

    Why? God isn't nice.

    IGRC
Why did he bother with it all in the first place?

    Why? God was bored,

If Luke Skywalker can kiss his sister in Empire Strikes Back and not be breaking any rules because at the time he didn't know it was his sister... well, it's plausible God can care and we just don't understand how.

    Yours truly,

    Luke Skywalker

    ...

Sorry. I didn't know how to respond seriously to the post. Can you point me out who said God was nice and why?

God did not create predetermined meat puppets. Nor did God create sin whatsoever. To be truly alive God must allow self choice of nature. What you truly love you become and is your choice not God's.

God is all knowing, however it is logically impossible to create life without giving life its full volition. You can not put a square peg in a round hole. With God life is meant to be free and freely chosen.

So the Adam & Eve story is consistent with a God that is good. Sin is contrary to God, and against his being. So if someone makes an enemy of themself to God then God must destroy them if they go too far in evil. Why, because Every choice of nature is temporal til eternal choice and you cant have eternal enemies in life everlasting.

Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Moses, David etc. found mercy through God through faith in God. The promise to the jews was to deliver them from their sins. But a jew must put their trust and therefore their faith in God to redeem them.

So the story loses its credibility by having to destroy everybody other than the faithful jews because faith was nowhere else to be found in any other groups of people.

If evil people would think God is nice, it would mean that God is evil fascist who is against truth and all good. So, I kind of like, if evil people think God is not nice.

I think God is Great, and only good, extremely wise and nice.

I think love is the reason why God created, because:

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

Well, god did say he creates evil,

    Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

    so

I like the idea that the Angels get a pass but people don't when it comes to God's curse.

So the devil did something that God can't and forced God to jump through hoops .

I guess its not an omipotent God after all.

True enough! I just like the Adam & Eve story.

The writers of the bible should have wrote backstory, and character outlines before writing the mess of a story.

Evil is like darkness, nothing. Darkness is what is left, when light (good) is not present. Evil is formed, when God allows Him to be rejected. So, God is not evil and He doesn’t do anything evil. But He makes it possible that people can reject Him and choose evil. Freedom is good, even if some use it for bad.

    Nah!

    Consider: Matthew 7:20

"Therefore by their fruits you will know them."

which is why those who create good are considered good, and those who create bad are considered bad. So, when Isaiah 45;7 tells us that god creates evil we have every right to consider him evil.

"Therefore by god's fruits (evil) you will know him (as evil)."

That God creates, or forms evil is not same as do evil actions. God doesn’t do evil works, but He has created all and so also evil is by His creation. I think it is not bad that God gave this opportunity also for evil. In my opinion it shows His great love that He has given this for good and evil. Unfortunate thing is that some love more evil than good and do all kind of bad things.

But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

    Prove to whom?

To god? He would already consider his judgment will be right.

To us? How would creating evil prove his judgment is right? Hell, according to the Bible God himself has made mistakes, so right there is evidence his judgment isn't always right.

Hell is a place that ends evil, because evil people are destroyed there. That is why I think it is not evil. Evil would be to allow evil people to live forever.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
    Matt. 10:28

I regret that I made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me, and has not carried out my commands." Samuel was angry; and he cried out to the LORD all night (1 Samuel 15:11).

Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that he had said he would bring upon them, and he did not do it (Jonah 3:10).

Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. (Genesis 6:5-6)

One does not regret, relent, or is sorry for doing something unless it was a mistake.
