Even if the deity were worthy, if I received a command to kill a child, I'd first ask myself....
"Am I hearing this right?"
"Am I insane, & hearing evil voices?"
"I'd prefer to risk eternal damnation in the Lake Of Fire than trust that it's really a deity telling me to do something so evil."

I really had to think about this. What type of devotion to god makes another persons life worthless compared to god's commandments?

What does killing your child to obey god teach you about killing?
Do you see killing as good --if-- it comes from god?

It is the pure devotion to God, as long as it pleased Him.

However does that mean that your morals come from you and not your deity?
Both. Dharma is my law, and if the Lord told me to kill my baby, i would refuse. Dharma comes from Narayana, so he would be going against that. This whole scenario is weird. The child he wants me to kill has done nothing wrong, and is in fact a part of the Lord himself.
