mike182, mike182, now that sounds familiar ......... :biglaugh:

But what if you were the God of this planet?

How do you convince a world you exist?

You can't affect free will and every time you do miracles they forget in just a few generations.
ok, so miracles are not gonna have a lasting affect, and i can't infringe on free will! ok, so what other options do i have, well, i could do nothing! let them figure things out for themselves. i might throw a few appostles in now and again, just for a laugh, but id mainly leave them too it.

you see, God is God, regardless of who follows him/her/it/me

although, if there was a bad leader somewhere, who was evil, i would give him visions of flying monkeys with spears, and slowly send him mad :verymad:

i would enjoy watching the great inventors over the years, and either help or hinder depending on what mood i woke up in

sorry, serious now! it would not bother me if they all became athiests, because i would know i exist, and they will know soon enough, "some sooner rather than later" i say, twidling a bolt of lightning between my fingers :tsk:

First, I would leave my "10 commandments."
I would roam the earth, looking for people to smoke weed with me, and if I liked them, I would grant them anything they wanted, as long as they told people about me, and made the world a happy place to live in.
Anyone who denied me would be punched with an invisible fist. The invisible fist would have not a single natural explination, and any studies into attempting to disprove my existance would always end with the scientist being knocked out.
Every Newyears eve parties, everyone would be blessed with thier favorite alcoholic beverages suddenly appearing in thier room, and a hangover, for those who suffer them, are garunteed not to happen.

Why smite? Why not just make their enemies all of a sudden be nice people? Then nobody gets smote, and everybody is happy? What would be wrong with that?

What kind of example would I be giving if I just rewarded infidels who try to murder my messengers? If one is fool enough to challenge God's people then consequences are in order or in shorter terms, "you have to break a few eggs to make an omlet".

Precisely the response I would expect from a follower of the God of peace and tolerance. Keep up with the persecution of the infidels, this is the message of peace that all should bow to.

I don't think I'd even try to convince them, unless I was bound by a higher law.

You can not convince a world you exist without affecting freewill.By knowing you are there for sure affects peoples overall life , thoughts , emotions , actions , because they know , if they know they do not act with complete free will! Part of free will is finding out for yourself.

Surely you could say that for any action? Why does this action affect a person's free will any more than letting them find out on their own does?

Because, in this case, you are negating the need for Faith.
