Ah that. Yes. Please look up the complete quote, not
what was carefully redacted for political purposes.

I am no t rump fan, but I like dishonest press even less.

No name designated at this time.
Question. Can you prove beyond a shadow of doubt that there wasn't?

Of course there were good and bad people on both sides - there is always light and dark - I am not gainsaying that -

Point taken - he did make comments about the driver of the car being a disgrace and a murderer etc - fair enough

Trump sets the stage for making the violent actions of bigotry and white nationalism seem OK. His attitude and remarks and his failure to condemn the violent actions of white nationals ans white supremacists makes it seem that those things are OK. Charlottesville, Va is a prime example of how he has been afraid to label nationalists as the core activists in violent action. During his campaign, he made it widely known that if you bust a head, he would back you up. One of his supporters did just that, though I do not think Trump backed him up.

You can be a bigot and a white nationalist. That is a choice, but you cannot take violent action in this country just because you are ticked off. I agree with the conclusion that Trump creates conditions that make taking such action seem to be OK.

That is the example that sprang to mind most immediately for me. The recent shooting in New Zealand is another example where Trump who usually whines loudly about anyone that he is upset with was remarkably restrained and did not condemn taking violent action.

As an avid NPR listener (liberal radio source created by
government) I even hear them altering quotes to suit.

Actually based on what @Audie said I looked this up - and according to that - Trump did call the guy disgraceful and a murderer etc

Also - I am an NPR listener and yes - @Revoltingest - I would agree that they often cherry pick quotes and who to talk to - when talking about something and yes they do appear left leaning

So did you get suckered by the redacted quote about
    "good people on both sides"?

They'll do far worse, eg, quoting Sarah Palin with "I can
see Russia from my house." (Tina Fey said it.) Whether
this was political mischief or a mistake, it's pretty bad.

    Nah.
Whenever I read some quote attributed to Trump which is
used to demonize him, I always verify it from other sources.

Any quote which is too good to be true is likely false.

There was another instance where they lambasted a chain bookstore for driving local stores out of business but never spoke to the locals - many of whom liked the cheaper merchandise that was on offer at the chain - sort of like in "You got mail"

The purpose in applying nasty labels is that they cannot
be challenged (being mere opinion supported by certainty),
unlike criticizing an act or quote, which can be examined.

    "Lambast"....a good word.

Anything to demonize big business, while praising noble quaint mom & pop stores.

It was more what he did and did not say prior to that incident that is significant and sets the stage for behavior like that.
