What goal can there conceivably be in life other than the accumulation of material goods?

Wise materialists will work hard to accumulate material ultimates, the fundamental un-analysable material entities. Common folks like us will tend to accumulate iPhones or cars created by Elon Musk or some such things.

If you were a materialist, what would you accumulate?

Honestly, I try to get rid of most of my worldly belongings, to only have what is needed to survive.
    So I can't be called a materialist :)
I would rather have spiritual knowledge then a lot of physical objects

The same ones we already pursue, just with the knowledge their is a finite amount of time and resources to do it with.

The world doesn't change just because we believe it's only matter. It only changes how we interpret the world and our place in it.

Non-believers often struggle with the idea that altruism, morality, self-sacrifice, values beyond the material, etc. can exist in the mind of the materialist -- one who holds that there is "nothing beyond the material" (like me).

Possessions are not the answer to happiness.

I suspect that you are conflating the philosophy of materialism with greed. A common flawed perception of the materialist on the part of the religious.

To quote Dawkins, "To not believe in God means that it falls on us to to make the world a better place".

The premise of this thread seems flawed to me.

Materialism is failed satanism, materialistic satanism is failed satanism, and satanism tends to be failed quasi paganism.

    Or lucuferianism, whatever

Radical atheism and religious fundamentalism are two sides of same coin, in my opinion. YMMV.

Huh. Is happiness a material? Since you say there is nothing beyond the material?

How can you compare Materialism with Satanism? Materialism is only the obsession with material things and the feel of need to have more things in life. I do not think that counts for those who follow satanism.

Mainly satanism is quite materialistic. There can be satanism that isn't, probably theistic, however that really isn't the norm, or standard.

Personally, I don't know any Satanists but those i heard an interview with or others explain to me, i would not call them materialists, and for the other thing, 99.9% of the materialist out there are not Satanists

Were they theistic satanists, of a specific group? Common satanism is openly materialistic, you can go read their texts for yourself.

The other speculation doesn't refute anything I wrote.

I do not know what group they come from. I have no urge to read about Satanism, kind of not a path i would choose to study.

You're thinking of LaVeyan Satanism, which is considered to be materialistic. Not all Satanists are materialists.
