If America keeps illegal aliens out who will pick our vegetables?

I'm not interested in your justifications. It's a pattern with you. You are a racist, going by this and all the other stuff you've said. We have sunblock now, so there's no excuses. White people had no problem tending their own crops for thousands of years beforehand so that's a stupid thing to say.

I'd have to use lots of sunscreen for working outside all day, this costs money. Thus, making my outdoor labor more costly than somebody who doesn't require sun block. Thanks for proving my point.

Then maybe you should go back to Northern Europe or whatever, since you can't do labor. You would've been useless in older times.

I can work outdoors perfectly fine when the sun is low on the horizon. I'd be perfectly fine going back to the home of my ancestors in Sweden, save for me having to give away most of the fruits from my labor.

I'm very well suited for doing indoor tasks like cooking Swedish meatballs.

So you just want slave labor to do the work for you since you're too delicate. Tsk tsk.

Early in the morning, I ride my own lawn mower for cutting my own grass. Sometimes, I also cook for myself or for others.

I bet you'd like a taste of my Swedish meatballs.

No. I'd prefer not to have anything to do with you outside of the forum. I'm not friends with racists. I'd rather just go to Sweden, which I probably will one day, although I'd prefer Norway for the natural beauty.

Also, there's plenty of white people who do just fine in the sun. There's also millions of non-white Americans, as well. No idea why you think Latino illegals need to do the outdoor labor.

If we want people to do difficult, back-breaking work, we should pay them a wage equal to the demands. And no, this would not cause the price of foods to skyrocket. The cost of foods is mostly based on the cost of distribution, not on the cost of growing or picking.

Keeping an underclass around just to pick fruit for a low cost is a stupid idea and justification. Get a work visa.

The one country with the highest collective IQ on earth who took the man too the moon, built the most incredible scientific toolsetc, any you ask who will pick the veggies.

Dont you know that there are LEGAL IMMIGRANTS TOO?
the ILLEGAL ones dont want to work pal, they want to sell drugs!
if you allow only legal immegrants, their wages will also increase to a much higher living standard.
But, Pelosi dont want that.
Nope, she wants poor legal immigrants to suffer so she can save money,
If she stops illigal migration, her wagebill would be too high to her taste.
therefore, the only way to save from the poorest of the poor, is too flood the workforce with more poor.
Then supply and demand results in your veggie pickers to earn a starving wage.

A few decades ago farmers used to put adds in help wanted classified for corn detasslers targeted at teenagers. Maybe the teenagers picked vegetables/fruit too.

Anyway, I would rather have a machine pick vegetables and fruit that I'm going to eat raw, even though I wash them first.

Answer: How about machines?
There is already lots of automation in agriculture and while that will continue to increase, it’ll never eliminate manual labour (there are three workers right in that video after all). Plenty of tasks can’t be performed by machines, certainly not without any human intervention and plenty that theoretically could be would still be much more expensive and inefficient that a team of practiced labourers.

Which will mean the loss of more small family farms....they can't justify expensive machinery.
More to the point, the vegetables will still be picked by those same people, but they will be doing it in other countries and shipping them to us.

I saw some great innovations in the USA.
One is where one farmer purchase a machine, and he gets employed by his neighbours to do some part of the agriculture duties. whilst the next does the same with other machines for other duties.
This way the small farmers can afford technology, pay for it, and be highly productive.
Look, I never want to be a farmer, even if I get the land for free.
I am sure I will damage the ground, fail the crops, and all my livestock will go ill and die.
I cant even keep tropical fish alive.
I think Farmers are the hardest people in Mind and Body, and I pray to God to give them all the rain and natural things they need.
If not for farming with such intencity we have today, the world population would be less than 2 billion people.
Naaa, those people are the ones we should protect from globalists and governments who want them to live under socialist rules.
From Argentinia to Canada, UK to Turkey, Israel to Japan, Capetown to Cairo, and the whole of Australia.
God please bless every farmer and make their minds as strong as their hands.

If the cost of illegal aliens doing harvesting were comparable to the cost of machines doing harvesting, I'd favor the machines doing the work in place of people who have no legal right being in America.
We could just give as many green cards as we're willing to give jobs.
That way, we could vet and monitor the folks as well as giving them basic rights and dignity.

A better idea: legal aliens.

Fact Sheet — Temporary Foreign Worker Program - Canada.ca

Essex County in Ontario - like many other places - has a huge number of foreign workers. In fact, we have so many Mexicans here that our small rural county has a Mexican consulate.

The worst impact from all of this: there are kinda long lines at the grocery stores on Sundays (since that's one of the main days the growers bring their workers into town to do shopping, go to church, socialize, etc.).

On the positive side, the crops get harvested and the workers have legal recourse if they end up with a shady employer.

I think you need to take care of yourself. In America, too, there are those who need a job.
Unemployment rate due to pandemic is already shocking
