Idolatry and Adoration

what is the difference between worshiping a human(anthropolatry) and adoring someone?

Worshiping a human is seeing and acting as though the other person is worthy of the worshiper's life, respect, and obedience. Rituals and prayers make one humble or a servant to another in those respects. It's an action in charity, ritual, prayer, study, practice, so have you.

Worship puts something "over" the worshiper: great mystery, cosmos, divinity, so forth

Adore is passive: I adore my child (I appreciate him, love him, and all of that) but I don't worship him (place her in the role of divinity).

Sometimes "worship a human" and adoring a human go together as the below 90 sec video clearly shows

Simply because they are different. I adore my wife but I don't worship her-- although she wants me to. :emojconfused:

I was thinking, if you mean christ they are worshiping christ's spirit not christ's flesh. So, technically, they're not worshiping a human (the flesh) but what that flesh is an incarnation of.

So, they're not worshiping the mirror just what's in the reflection.

The difference between adoration and worship is that to worship someone/something is to OFFER something to it. But, to adore someone/something is personal. No offering necessary.
