I predict, in 2007, US will invade Venezuela, if Chavez is still in power

The US has accused city officials of the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, of complicity in an attack on the car of US Ambassador William Brownfield.
The ambassador's convoy was pelted with eggs, onions and tomatoes and chased by motorbikes for some miles by supporters of President Hugo Chavez.
US Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns said the attack had been condoned by the city government. However, the mayor's office in Caracas denied any involvement in the incident.

And the above incident is enough excuse for US to go in, better excuse than WMD:biglaugh:

US warns against Chavez 'danger'

Ms Rice deplored Venezuela's close relations with Cuba

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez is one of the biggest dangers facing Latin America, Washington has said.
US secretary of state Condoleezza Rice said Mr Chavez was trying to influence others away from democracy, and called for a united front against him.
President Chavez responded by accusing the US of aggression, saying "world opinion is with Venezuela". The exchange would appear to undermine recent efforts to improve increasingly strained ties between the two states.

Nah. They're saving it up for Iran. Have you noticed the increase in rhetoric in that area in the past 2 months? It has certain similarities to the Summer of 2002 and Iraq.

We need Venezuela's oil too much. They'll find other nefarious means to deal with Chavez. Like the ones they used in Haiti recently.

See the "Bush wants to be the last President Continued" thread. Fighting on two fronts didn't stop Hitler.:(

It's a very different case. First, we have a volunteer army. Second, jingoism, while still alive today, is much nearer death than in the Reich. Third, well there's other stuff, but enuff for now.

Oh, and btw, fighting on two fronts is one of the stupidist military decisions Hitler ever made.
