I need some help...

VoidCat

Pronouns: he/him/they/them
mice do not belong in a human household
they are destructive by their very nature

like it or not......finding a little one is a problem
it is a sure thing there are many more
they chew EVERYTHING

your electrical wires
your furniture
your clothing
your dry wall
etc...etc....etc....

so.....your humanity is all upset

I understand

and I hope you get over this episode
this world is not about mice
It was a life and now it's dead. Why should that not upset me?

just hang on to that line of thought

years from now.....grief will come your way
far greater than you now suspect

I do now.....for I am old....
anticipate the loss of my beloved

I pray to go first.....and I am selfish in that desire

I would go before her.....
learn the territory
the language
the scheme of things

that I may stand over during her last hour

think you have a serious thought and feeling now?

just hang on to that......yeah right

having given several minutes to the issue......

allow me to soften my previous post.....just a little

like most people...we keep dogs
we have plenty of experience doing so
and each one was a love of it's own character

one in particular....
and I have dreamt of that animal.....that we meet again in the next life

she will be of a new form.....a horse
same color and markings.....just a lot more animal

and she will run as she did here in this life

ride.....if you dare

and perhaps I was quick to suggest you should not worry the life of something small

you don't really need help

but I knew someone who did
when I was soooooo much younger.....
a mouse had trapped itself in a cardboard box
it could not jump high enough to get out

this other fellow......of whom the memory I wish I could forget.....
doused the little creature with lighter fluid and killed it by flame

if only I had been a black belt then

I am often repelled by my fellowman

Ignore stupid comments. Your compassion is wonderful and do not let anyone belittle how you feel. All life is important including mice. Coming from a Quaker background I was taught to respect all life. Humans have destroyed so much beneficial life to our world just because it is incontinent. Read the book "Eager" about how special beavers are and how ignorant humans can be. Hope you continue to appreciate life for what it is.

I feel even if it had survive and not died while I was at school my foster parent wouldn't have let me care for it properly long enough for me to reunite it with it's mother
A baby mouse like that one, needs to be fed hourly, day & night.

You did your best, my young friend. Never lose your appreciation for life! Always take time to think about the variety of it we can enjoy!
Except for mosquitoes.
