I kinda miss Hugh Hefner

When Hef was alive he kept the girls in check: now the twins do porn. He was like the Saddam Hussein of the adult empire.

I did a case study on Playboy in 2011/2012 to understand it more (it was part of my Bachelor's Degree). It fascinated me why Playboy was in the mainstream and accepted because their website and their TV channel show porn but the magazine doesn't.

People hate the fact Bill Clinton and Donald Trump were womaniser but its OK for Hef to be ?

By the way I don't like porn. I'm not saying women should wear headscarves either.

Perhaps Hefner wouldn't be able to exist in today's world.
Did we really know him, and in what ways these women were possibly manipulated?

Americans always have had a weird relationship to the sex industry, and always seem to have been keen to draw distinctions between acceptable and unacceptable forms of sexploitation.

For example, stripping and other forms of displaying naked women seems to be considered perfectly legal in a lot of states, yet prostitution and porn are deemed "obscene".

I find the way in which they were manipulated fairly obvious: They needed money and he had it.

The vast pool of financially desperate women will always be the primary source of labor for the sex industry.

And no, people hated Hugh Hefner for profiting off the exploitation of women ever since he started Playboy.

But he got rich off of it, and had connections to a lot of other rich people and celebrities as a result, giving the appearance of mainstream acceptability.

According to you, isn't everyone who is a worker in a capitalist system financially desperate?

I was thinking of something a little more devious.

How did he get those celebrity connections if people hated him ? It's only BECAUSE of the magazine he got rich and famous

And so many loved JFK , I wonder what really happened with Marylin Monroe.

Exactly. It's OK for JFK , Bill Clinton and Hef but if Trump does it he's seen as crass and vulgar.

@ChristineM do you hate Trump for threatening a porn star and grabbing them by the ? The left is poisonous.

I wonder how useful a bachelors degree in Playboy is in the real world.

He was just a mascot for all the wannabes that couldn't be. Getting rich off other men's unfulfilled desires. It's all very sad and pathetic.
