I believe the Christian Church today is condemned? (Christians only)

Scripture does say if anyone teaches a different gospel than what the apostles taught they are condemned.

(Galatians 1:7-8) “Not that there can be more than one Good News; it is merely that some troublemakers among you want to change the Good News of Christ; and let me warn you that if anyone preaches a version of the Good News different from the one you have already heard, he is to be condemned.”

Apostle John taught that a child of God can’t sin.

(1 John 3:9-10) “No one who has been begotten by God sins; because God’s seed remains inside him, he cannot sin when he has been begotten by God. In this way we distinguish the children of God from the children of the devil: anybody not living a holy life and not loving his brother is no child of God’s.”

Does your church teach what John taught?

Matthew taught the following scripture. Does your church teach what Matthew said Jesus taught?

(Matthew 23:8-9) “You, however must not allow yourselves to be called Rabbi, since you have only one Master, and you are all brothers. You must call no one on earth your father, since you have only one Father, and he is in heaven.”

(Matthew 5:39) “You have learnt how it was said: ‘Eye for eye and tooth for tooth.’ But I say this to you: offer the wicked man no resistance.”

Are you claiming that 1 John 3:9-10 is claiming that it is physically impossible for someone saved to sin?
That there is only 1 repentance (at baptism) followed by a sinless life?

If so, then not only does my church not teach that, but other parts of the Bible do not teach that ... like 1 John 2:1

or Jesus ... Luke 11:4

There is no "Christian Church". Different denominations teach different things.

I am quoting scripture that tells us a Child of God cannot sin. Scripture does not say one who is saved cannot sin.

Scripture also does not say that one who is saved is going to the kingdom of God with Jesus.

John taught the following. No church that I know of or have heard of, teaches what the apostles taught. John’s Words are the most ignored.

(1 John 3:9-10) “No one who has been begotten by God sins; because God’s seed remains inside him, he cannot sin when he has been begotten by God. In this way we distinguish the children of God from the children of the devil: anybody not living a holy life and not loving his brother is no child of God’s.”

(1 John 2:6) “But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did”

(1 John 3:8) “Whoever lives sinfully belongs to the devil, since thedevilhas been a sinner from the beginning. This was the purpose of the appearing of the Son of God, to undo the work of the devil.”

(John 14:21) “Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me; and anybody who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and show myself to him.”

(John 14: 23) “Anyone who loves me will keep my word and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make a home in him.”

(John 12:47-48) “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall condemn him, since I have come not to condemn the world, but to save the world: he who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already: the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.”

(1 John 2: 27) “But you have not lost the anointing that he gave you, and you do not need anyone to teach you; the anointing he gave teaches you everything: you are anointed with truth, not with a lie, and as it has taught you, so you must stay in him.”

My witness is that God makes it possible for those who are begotten by him to defeat Satan/sin forever.

Well, seeing how the Gospels were written by unknown authors with 3rd hand information, we really can't be sure what the Apostles said.

You have my deepest sympathy.
You have chosen a path full of doubt and tears.
With luck, you will discover the truth just like Martin Luther did ... Grace.

1 John is a letter.
I believe that its date and authorship is more certain.
The only thing that is agreed upon (for the most part) regarding John's Epistles is that they were written by the same author. There is no verifiable evidence that points to it being the Apostle John, though.

You have an opinion, but you don’t have any scripture to support that opinion. Think about it Jesus said he would call out his own by name, and they would recognize his voice. Has he called you out by name, does Jesus personally teach you?

Jesus said he would show himself to those who keep his commandments, have you seen Jesus?

(John 14:21) “Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me; and anybody who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and show myself to him.”

(John 10:1-5)"I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep. The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."

Who does all the work, the sheep or the shepherd?

Maybe he didn't mean it literally.

Jesus told us who has to do the work. He also told us that he or she can’t do the work unless they are in him.

(1 John 2:6) “But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did”

Jesus also told us just what will be our judge on the last day. Read it and see if he is not telling everyone they had better obey God’s Commandments.

(John 12:47-48) “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall condemn him, since I have come not to condemn the world, but to save the world: he who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already: the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.”

If people understood Paul they would know that he assumed people would understand that it was God Working in people that allowed them to defeat Satan, and obey God. Paul know that no amount of work that he tried to do had any effect, but by being in Jesus he could do everything God Commanded.

So the sheep are doing the work because of the grace the shepherd gives them.
