Be creative and try to come up with a scenario that results in you dying in space. Predict how you will get into space and how you will die.

First of all how will you get into Space? How would you, [your name], most likely find yourself in space? For example do think think it would be because a university sent you or a group of angry moms, or are you forced into space by the military or what? What's the most likely scenario?

Secondly how will you die once you get into space? For example will you eat something rotten before leaving planet Earth? Are you hit by a stray meteor?

    Tell your story, please.

Aren't we in space? On a planet, but as far as I know, it is in space.

Rogue planet passing too close the asteroid that my alien abductors crash landed on pulls that asteroid out of the Oort cloud and sends it, me and them hurtling into the cold, dark vastness of extra-solar space only to see me die from hitting my head in the dark as I scramble to get on a pressure suit made for a species sort of like a man-sized squid.

I didn't mention the alien probe, but really, that was the only fun part of that whole, horrible event.

Hubby in the passenger seat, i was driving round and round the arc de triumph trying to coax the car up to escape velocity i hit a bump in the road. The car took off like a rocket, up and up it went.

Further up i went and out into the dark of space. What a wonderful view from up here.

Hubby farted, i opened the window... At least when all the air is sucked out of your lungs and they begin to freeze the stink of hubbies farts it not a problem.

Mangalavara obtained a job teaching English to scientists in the People's Republic of China. His contract was for 12 months, but he renewed it year after year and thereby made a career out of teaching English there. After 26 years of helping the PRC's scientists as well as important business figures improve their English, the China National Space Administration invited him on-board a manned spacecraft of theirs that was to orbit Earth. Despite his fear of heights, Mangalavara accepted the invitation. On the big day, the spacecraft was launched to the chagrin of NASA and a 106-year-old Joe Biden who had been reelected President of the United States for the third time just after the Twenty-second Amendment to the US Constitution was repealed.

The whole world was glued to its screens watching the spacecraft successfully orbit the planet. While Mangalavara was having fun inside the spacecraft with the zero gravity, he accidently broke a glass cage containing a Caspian cobra. The snake, feeling threatened and enraged, bit him repeatedly. Sadly, Mangalavara died from the bites en route as the spacecraft was heading back to Earth in order to get him to a hospital. The CNSA team that failed to make sure the antivenom was brought on-board before the spacecraft's launch was later executed.

Well, I'm kinda already there. Well, at least the planet I'm riding on is.

So I'll probably die in space getting run over by a bus or something.

Elon Musk has had wonderful ideas....he made Paypal, Tesla electric cars that are fast and can go 250 miles on a charge, and Space X that makes rockets for 1/20 of the cost of larger rockets, and the Boring Project that bores holes (like the ones Big Bertha made in Los Angeles for subways, but smaller and for a fraction of the price). He began with ideas, and, instead of inventing it himself, he hired good engineers. He was recently the richest person in the world.

Yet, Musk's most recent projects is to put a million people on Mars, and he claims that to do it he will have to launch 1 rocket per day, but this is not a feasible plan since Mars and Earth only line up (as they orbit the sun at different rates) once every couple of years. There are no Walmart Supercenters on Mars....no place to buy candy bars. The air is very thin (but it is thought that it might be terraformed to be more earthlike, releasing oxygen and water into the thin Martian air (which would probably eventually boil off into space).

I suppose that at least at first people would be living in biodomes on Mars. A famous biodome has been tried in the United States before, but they greatly under-estimated the amount of CO2, resulting in a spurt of growth of morning glory weeds that choked out their food supply, resulting in tedious hours of weed picking. They say that the biodome project was a colossal failure, but I say that its failure taught us, and that meant success.

If we can't build an effective biodome on Earth, how could we expect to build one on Mars?

Musk's rockets have frequently crashed (one exploded shortly after a successful touch down). If so, can we safely get to Mars?

What is the point of going to Mars? Is the idea to destroy our environment in worshiping mammon, then abandon the toxic waste dump called earth and try to get to the next toxic waste dump (Mars)? Perhaps it would be better to fix (and not ruin) this planet?

One benefit is to keep developing new manufacturing tech and to develop manufacturing methods in Space. Space has a lot of resources, but engineers don't know how to manufacture in space using those resources. They don't have a means of turning an asteroid into a spaceships and fuel. Everything we have in space must be built on Earth and then launched up -- and that is just not very good. Manufacturing in space would make it possible to build actual space ships instead of mere rockets. There are many uses for space ships and space manufacturing. Putting people in space stations has helped, but putting people onto a planet will also help.

Inspiration. Also, the plan is to put scientists on Mars, not just anyone. They'll be able to find out things there, first hand. They might invent new solutions that help us here on Earth, but they'll definitely report inspirational discoveries from the planet. Also they'll still be connected to Earth by digital communication, so they won't be completely isolated. Its a one way ticket, but in exchange they get to do what no one has ever done which is live on another planet. Stories will come from this.

I didn't know it was a million. If he can put a million people there, then that million actually can make enough habitats to make that planet comfortable. I thought it was only going to be thirty or so people. Maybe they'll start with the scientists and then send more after them.

My guess is as good as yours but there are other alternatives. Mars has lower gravity, so they could dig very deeply into the planet. This would automatically increase the pressure, so they could achieve Earth-like air pressure naturally. Then in this deep, deep environment they could build on large centrifuges if they wanted to experience greater body weight. They could have towns built this way, but they probably wouldn't need to. A little gravity goes a long way.

But you have dodged the question. In what way will you be hog-tied and dragged into space? Who will do it, and how will you die there?

I was standing on the corner minding my own business when a giant asteroid impacted the earth near enough to send the ground I was standing on into space, but not close enough to kill me from the impact directly. I'm not sure that I would live to reach the end of the atmosphere, and thus not technically dying in space, but I think this is good enough if it results in my dead body ending up somewhere other than earth. I don't see myself volunteering to go to space, so that would be the likeliest scenario in which I end up there.

My British ( crown colony ) heritage, the books
my English lit prof- mother had, the Heroic death in a Noble hopeless cause! Yes!
"Once more into the breach, me hearties"
"Charge for the guns, they said"!

    The Seige of the Alsoranns!
    The Three Second War!

    The Glory!

But then the Wingworms screamjng out
    of their hole.
    I, I alone, 49kg of dauntless Microchicomette!

A faint enigmatic smile plays across my lips.
The slight tic that was the only sign of
what transpired that terrible day when- but thats the past, the tic now, gone.
I pull the pin, we all die, but Wingworms,
though. WHY did it have to be wingworms!!

I, Audie the Microchicimette, to mix forever my
molecules with those of the foul wimgwotms in
an ever expanding nebula of...too disgusting
    to even name it.

If only worms had knees, there'd be another way
Think fast, Audie, for sore beset you be, by
    yon Wingworms, grim and importunate.

    How to die in space....
Sleeping peacefully on a verdant water planet.

    That's my plan.
